I shall update the doc! Ok it looks like free launches are up!

I suggest:

a kethane probe for the Mun and Minmus

A polar/crater/desert base for kerbin

OH BTW this is the usb that I have 2 of :P black Friday 2 years ago. Its REALLY CHEAP and REALLY BIG: SanDisk Cruzer

Good job guys! Looks like Luther Station is up and running. I like the idea of scanning probes, probably the best first step to making bases and mining kethane.

I'm going to quickly launch up a kethane probe for the Mun. I'll be back in like 30 minutes

Cool. I could send up some fuel tankers to top up the station reserves, or send up some more crew.

On a side not, are the results from the RLA/no RLA poll in?

Mono, I suggest adding a science+kethane scanning add on to the station.

Kethane probes are irrelevant. I allow (and for saving us space clutter) and encourage the use of kethane debug to see all deposits. It removes the scanning need to focus on what you really need to do.

Yall are welcome to it, but when it comes down to it, it's not that imporant.

Mono, your single mission is your call, and you can do whatever you want. Putting fuel up there would be a good start for practicality and putting a probe at minmus, regardless of it's relevance, is a good thing too.

Also, I need to get you your badge and update the second post with a new PL list and remove the old mission briefing.

Well, for single launch missions... We will need (if not now then shortly after):

  • A LKO crew shuttle
  • A surface to LKO tanker
  • A LKO-LMO crew shuttle
  • A LMO-Munar surface shuttle
  • A LMO-LKO Tanker
  • A Munar surface to LMO tanker

And possibly some other things, but these are essential architecture pieces.

Anyway, I'm close to done with my Munar station design, so after I plan the logistics we should be ready to go (at least unless the PL order got shifted or something :P).

It isn't a tanker but it can get to 250 probably (it gets to 150 with spare). I can also just make it a bit bigger.

I tried to add more fuel but it was too heavy to get up. It should work now, but it may need a fraction of fuel from the station to return. MAY. Depends on how good of a pilot your are :P

Huh. Nice design, but it seems a little part heavy. I have been working on something similar.

I have been working on an Unmanned Transfer Vehicle for Kethane. I currently have one with about 20 parts able to take ~37 tonnes to Duna and back. (With refuelling along the way, it's range could be increased to Jool or even Eeloo.) It also has the TWR to land on and return to orbit around Mun with a 36 tonne payload. It is primarily designed to pull a payload (More stable than pushing.), but it can push them as well.

EDIT: Said tug has 7.5 Km/s of DV without a payload. It can also take 72 tonnes to Mun, Minmus or Duna (With Aerobraking) orbit.

The antennae on there is to balance out the extra weight of the docking port compared to the nosecones. The docking port is on there for better compatability with other designs. It basically just means that the thing can be refuelled even if there are no SR. ports available.

EDIT EDIT: My shuttle is going all right. Should use about half of it's fuel to get to LKO, thank you NTRs. It flies like a for most of the ascent through the upper atmo, but it is very stable, and incredibly easy to recover from a flatspin. It starts out with an intake ratio of 4:3, but at about 20K that changes to 4:1 as the outside TJs shutdown. Then the nukes kick in at about 25K, and the final TJ shuts down at ~36K.

Avera9eJoe I have a shuttle which is also a LKO(100km) however to is vertical take-off and it has a bit over half the part count. It needs to be refueled as soon as it reaches LKO however it has a nuke and a great deal of fuel so it has the delta-V to transport anywhere in the solar system. The only disadvantage of it is that it can only carry 1 kerbal, but it could be modified to carry more, tell me if you guys would like to use my shuttle.

I like it :). My thing really is a monster :P. If you double stack the wings it'll add more lift and your design might be able to get even higher. I think the shuttle would need to carry 3 kerbals since that's the number I always put in my stations, buy hey that's just me. My shuttle carries an insane 11 kerbals xD. Not useful for anything except tourists :P

Edit edit: I will definitely get KER since it it what I need to manage part counts and other such things in editor :)
