Anyone having trouble loading .25 crafts into .9? Game running slower or bugs maybe. I've had problems in the past and had to rebuild, but I think this ones ok.

You have to save them in sandbox before they can load in career, apparently. So the game can calculate size/weight limitations.

Craft using replaced parts no longer open at all. The VAB/SPH feel a little less stable to me. And the building tools are not good.

After having used editor tools the Squad improvements feel like a step back sadly.

I'm very happy Squad is trying to address the building issues and new parts is always good!

Part weight and count in the VAB/SPH is great, now Squad pleeese can we have dv too. I don't want to do maths. Infact I haven't done a single calculation when building any ships.

Which parts have been replaced? The MkIII cockpit and stuff? I short of expected that, so I haven't touched those since 0.24. I'm still playing like a kid with a new toy, no system at all and all "ooohh, shiny!" all the time. Much less import my saves and stuff!

Rune. Plus, I need my mods to update.

What don't you like about the gizmos? I'm a huge fan, although they could use the added functionality of EdTools like surface attach toggle and higher symmetry multiples.

Once EdTools gets updated, it should be all good.

When you rotate a ship in mirror symmetry the mirror point moves with the ship...I have used that function so many times and now I have to attach everything separately, messing up the symmetry.Exibit A-Z

I'm working on re-building my drop ship which was abandoned at the mention of mk3 parts.

40% less parts, a bigger cargo bay, smaller profile, and more fuel. The architecture reminds me of my military SSTOs.

Its strange, personally I don't see the benefits.. It is a slower process than before. And its not just that I am not used to it. There are more steps to placing and moving parts than before.

Yeah some parts that are now missing haven't had their place taken by the new parts so you cant open them at all. Although I too didn't have many using those parts.

Annoyingly considering these parts are for shuttles its not possible to realistically place rear engines without a lot of the engine clipping though the body of it..

Here's the first prototype with a placeholder shuttle:

I used retracted landing to act as slid pads (they're lighter than rover wheels). They work pretty well and allow higher landing speeds, although they may be too big for your shuttle.

The TWR of the shuttle is very low after booster separation if you are using three ant engines, so the boosters will have to provide most of the delta-v. My shuttle was too heavy and it ran dry at 2000m/s orbital. :(

I'm also proposing a more aesthetically pleasing version with the fuel for the boosters clipped inside the ET and have the boosters made up of those white antennas. The downside to this would be the increased mass of the ET and thus a lower TWR after booster separation.

Gus have you tried this launcher with an RCS main tank? I'm trying it now and Im getting RCS flow from the central tank to the RCS boosters even with no contact or flow parts.. Is this normal for RCS?

I haven't tried it, no, but RCS goes wherever it wants, no direct contact or crossfeed parts needed. It's always been like that.

Anyway, I'm finding that building goes faster now in some ways, because my computer lags a lot when trying to place parts. Whenever I used to hit CTRL Z, my computer would hang for a while, then finally complete the operation. Being able to rotate and offset the parts prevents those time-consuming "undos" for me, which is great for when I'm working on things like my Saturbo V, which I played with earlier, and should release soon.

It'll work better if you use liquid fuelled booster in this case. Maybe clip the LFO tanks inside the ET.

Thanks man, I did actually mean to type, Giggle.. But you answered my question perfectly. Cheers!

Yup on it now. Thanks man.

That's awesome Gus!

I see how it works. How stable is it?

Did you use an ant engine as the hinge?

I used the structural pylon, which behaves kind of unreliably, so I might switch to the Ant. Also, I got the idea from Overfloater, who is way more talented than I am. See the beginning of this video.

Yeah Ive seen OF's work before. This could be really cool on a long range SSTO.

Mun base in a box?
