It's a fake, the government want us to believe that there is a mun so they can fake landings on it

Joke aside, my theory is that the mun is made of cement: it's quite hard(you can crash on it without breaking it) and it's gray(ish)

I think that Mun is simply created from rock- the normal found everywhere on Earth (akhem - Kerbin) rock. Minmus, must be more coplicated, because of it's green tint. There are probably green compunds like Manganese(VII), CrO3 , Cr3HO, Fe(OH)2,
