IIRC, the Probe Shell doesn't have a decoupler, unless you want to fashion one out of the stock decoupler.

Correct, however I will be making one soon.

OP, I have a bit of a question. Are the CBMs functional, I.E. will they hold an MPLM to my station in orbit, or am I SOL until docking is implemented?

Start by starting a new rocket. select the instrument ball command pod. Go to the "Structural and Aerodynamics" tab, and find the parts. The Heatshield goes below, and the Mach Chute or Aeroshell goes on top.

Hope this helps.

what you mean ''mach chute or aeroshell'' souldnt we use both of them?

i found decoupler fits in it (oki still little tick but its oke) also found internal structure layer for non use instrument ball... i hope im able to use probe with remote tech later but need to apply some little antenas in there (maybe LH'SMun Excursion Module's little parts fits in it) :) ... (trying mars express-beagle 2, cassini-huygens style :P) :D maybe i can take picture of surface thats enugh for the start :)

i will upload screenshot decoupler and internal structure...

there they are;

lol seems like puzzle :P

probe1e.jpg

they are fits in :)

probe2qg.jpg

consept of inside probe instruments

probe3.jpg

internal structure from odin (novapunch)

decoupler from novapunch (escape tower's ?)

instruments from LH'SMun Excursion Module and probodobdiy kit, tiny camera from fixed cam mod

(need to copy and work on parts adding remote to antena adding hull camera to little cam.. donno sas gonna work after decoupling? also antena and little cam gonna go beyond heatshield ? need animate it to deployable i will rescale parts from damned robotic-donno maybe they dont work at this scale :Z didnt tryed yet)

ye its fits but needs to be little thin for placing 2 of them inside maybe rescale will work for it also :D but donno how to keep its radius and make it thin? maybe its not cause a problem i wll try :P ... still waiting for Pelf's offical one also :)

I made a decoupler version of the heatshield and a new backshell which can decouple. As soon as I make a parachute for the instruments ball I'll release them all.

Cool. I was toying around with modding the .cfgs and made some prototypes. the results were VERY cool.

Also, my attempt to strengthen the connections between the Mach Chute and whatever it's attached to is NOT any good when opening the chute normally at 3500 m/s and 40,000 m. (yes, you read that right.) I went ballistic to the point of almost reaching escape velocity, then engaged another motor just before reentry. chute just tore off the moment that it went to semi-deployed. even with the connection made 100 times stronger...

Started on aeroshells for rovers and landers:

untitled%20%282%29.png

This one is 1.8m in diamter. There's a smaller one that is 1m in diameter. I also started on a lander but I don't have it at a point where I want show it. It will be like the Phoenix and Mars Polar landers though.

It's looking very cool, can't wait until it's total ready.

Love the parts in this pack. I couldn't make all my awesome orbital stations without it.

One thing that bothered me a bit though is the mass of the 6-way hub connector. At 1.5 mass it just weights too much compared with other parts of similar size. I reduced it to 0.4 in the config for myself as that is closer to a weight I would think it is. So now I can actually use it as a hub for spaceships. :)

If you want something to be horizontal, build it vertically, detach it, then put it back on horizontally.

You misunderstand I am unable to attach anything horizontally.I am only able to attack modules to the upper and lower surface of the 6 sided hub. I cannot attach anything to the 4 horizontal surfaces.
