Anyone know what's happening to cause the following: I'm playing around with the rescale settings on a couple of parts (Pteron fuselage and wings and a couple of others)

It looks fine (bigger) when I load the parts in the VAB, looks fine when I'm on the runway or on the pad, but if I go back to the space center, and then return to the ship, the parts have shrunk back to their original size.

It only seems to affect command parts though (the wings stayed big).

Any ideas?

Change the part name?

I tried that in certain spots and it wound up losing the parts entirely, I had to restart from square one.

Have you done this before? It's just a matter of scale-up and tweaking a few values. It seems like it should be simple. I wasn't expecting to encounter this kind of thing.

Just edited the config. I don't know enough about modding to do a whole new thing. About all I can do is tweak code that other people wrote.

It's kind of like downloading an image of the Mona Lisa, then using microsoft paint to give her a mustache.

Have you tried using tweakscale? It's pretty easy to write a MM config to add tweak scale to any part and it's super convenient to play around with the scale.

Tried it without and yes that is near. Any chance we could get a config for FAR/NEAR and DRE? :)

So, will the shuttle now hold three Kerbals? Because that seemed to be the consensus of most people here

I think it's a good idea since 2 kerbals meant ferrying one (would you really put up a shuttle and waste resources for fuel and ablative shielding just for one kerman? ONE KERMAN?! Sorry. Lol just kidding

But without the IVA yet, it's easier like that. Am I the one to make the IVA though? (Cause If I am, it will be my first time)

Ok great. Now, is there an easy way to edit the number of Kerbals it can hold in a config file?(I've never touched configs before for fear of breaking them:P)

Problem? if you mean my landing issues then i haven't tried again, i think it might just have been a one off though since i don't get it when i launch from the runway and fly around a bit then land

So, something weird happened today. I was flying the petron back from orbit, and i forgot to put down the gear, but it took a 36m/s impact without a scratch. but as I was taxiing around, I ht a building going about 10m/s and it fell apart. Not a bug but just kinda funny

I'm in total agreement with Blackheart and the vox populi on this one 3 kerbals seems like the magic number. I think with where the parts currently occur in the Tech tree it is balanced that three kerbals get carried for less weight than the Mark 1-2.

Regarding the IVA,Blackheart if you want to take that on I'm quite sure you will do a stellar job and it will be the first in a long line of awesomeness. I leave it up to you, PM and let me know.

Understood I will get to it as soon as possible. By the way, You really want that huge back part on Hydra Engine?

Here's an Upper Stage Engine from Aerojet Kerbodyne (which is based on Shuttle OMS)

And are you not including a custom adapter?

The problem with the long nozzle it occurs to me now would be clearance when docking, good catch... but the look is great. Aerojet are now engine suppliers to Fruit Bat, stock climbs 6 points.

The Launch Fairing/Adapter part is escaping me right now, I think for that part to be worth making it needs to have some functionality other than making The Pteron look neat at launch, what about it having RCS fuel and Batteries in there? Reduce the amount of fuel in the main body,possibly attach the OMS to the shroud/service module and dump more weight/fuel off before re-entry.

I tried tweakscale but it doesn't work with Pteron. I think it's mostly for fuel tanks. At any rate, I don't think it alters crew size, which was the point in the first place.

Okay I actually had time to make a model today and textured it for test this is not finished yet but

Looks great Blackheart, one note though...The green lights should be opposite each other at the 12 o'clock and 6 o'clock positions with red lights at the 9 o'clock and 3 o'clock. I just realised that the colour of lights can be changed in the VAB now. So 4 white lights will be awesome, I assume those are lights rather than glowing textures. Looking great.
