Octagonal Struts

Recommended Posts

I'm no Octagonal strut expert, but I believe you can simply put the struts directly underneath the tank, if it doesn't work in the Angle snap mode, just hit that button again and it'll turn into a circle and it should work.

Cubic Octagonal Struts rather than octagonal.

Simply attach them to the bottom of the tank with the desired symmetry, then attach the engines to them, you can rotate them 180 degrees before attaching the engines to hide them inside the tank.

The plane tail fins (the ones by WinterOwl Aircraft Emporium) also work really well, take a look at some of the rockets at my page. Cubic Octagonal Struts when the engines are moved in closer towards the fuel tanks. :)

Temstar also has a nice series of rockets with engines attached like this.

Blizzy78's tutorial linked above is also a very nice tutorial.

Hitting A and D rotate the thing 90^ in yaw. W and S rotate 90^ in pitch. Q and E rotate 90^ in roll. You can hit each one multiple times so 2 taps is 180^. Holding down SHIFT while hitting one of these keys gives 5^ rotation so 9x shifted taps = 45^ rotation.
