No mechjeb3. Just stock parts4. Go back and spawn another one, move it also off the runway. Rinse and repeat as needed. ----- I use tons of mods otherwise I'd give it a shot. Here's what my tactic would have been: - Make a simple, slow, easy-to-glide plane. Simple enough that I can put the throttle to full and it will automatically take off and level out, which will not go faster than perhaps 50m/s. Slower is better. - Make sure each has a parachute or two attached, enough for a safe landing. - Line up 3, 4, 5, or however many I can manage on the grass beside the runway. - Fly them in formation, then cut the engines off, one after another, just before/above the island, and deploy parachutes. - Watch as they gracefully land next to each other. - Profit!!!
