Return of the MagicBoulder?

Hello Guys,

I am aware that this question can only be answered by the Devs but I am wondering if it is just me, who is missing this shiny little Rock which was orbiting around Ike.

Well, actually it was some kind of Asteroid which was not rendered anymore because it was neither a celestial Body nor a Ship. So it just disappeared... BUT it is still inactive in the game-code, IIRC.

My curiosity therefore is circling around the question that, now that we will have asteroids in the Game, that the possibility will enhance to see a reappearance of that beloved little Boulder.

The Magic Boulder is seriously overdue for a good taunting.

If it ever does return, I'd hope it's movable like a normal asteroid, so it can be relocated for easier study.

I wonder if a modder could do such a thing?

The only time I visited it was allll the way back in .17... So YES I would like it back!

Also, I restarted my ribbons recently, and I'm very sad that I wont be able to give myself the Ike anomaly dot again.

The thing that made Magic Boulder a challenge was that it didn't show up in Map view. I assume asteroids will be different in that they will show up in Map view (possibly after you research their location, or whatever).

kind of the same for me, I played the game but couldn't fly to other planets, let alone rendez-vous with something I can't see on the map mode... I missed my chance and I hope it returns, although I'm gonna compensate by messing with asteroids

Yes, that is me crashing into it like an idiot (without docking, RSC translation wasn't really used much back then, oh, and the ship didn't even have RSC). And yes, that is a Kerbal trying to escape, and yes, the Boulder was taunted.

I think clawing it would be too "taunting" the magic boulder....

wonder if we did dock with it, would we get some exotic science for it I wonder ? would it be a jackpot ?

I think the devs have taunted it long enough by not letting other people see it, like me, i'm left watching scott manley show me it in a video..... because it disappeared ~0.19 and I joined 2 versions later, 0.21..

But I spent a couple of hours looking for it until i realized that it is not there :/
