VTOL Speed Challenge

Right. So this is the first challenge I've made, so feedback would be nice.

The gist of the challenge is you have to VTOL take off from the Runway, and then proceed to land on each of the buildings around the KSC

You start from the runway, and then vertically take off (ie. brakes must be on, no rolling), and land on the buildings around the KSC in this order:

1. Spaceplane hanger

2. Astronaut complex (Mind the flag pole! )

3. R&D centre (Land on the bridge for -5 secs of your final time)

4. Tracking station

5. Launch Pad (On the raised centre part)

6. Mission control (The small building just to the east of the Spaceplane hangar)

7. VAB helipad for the finish. Time stops once the kerbal places the flag into the ground.

RULES

• You MUST get out and plant a flag every time you land
  
• Screenshots must be taken at every Landing point including the start to show your time. The screenshot should be zoomed out to show all of the previous flags, to prevent people from landing in to wrong order. Any other screenshots or videos you want can also be included.
  
• The first and last screenshot must have the Resource Menu open, showing
  
• Mods are allowed (Try the Cupcake Wannabe Hover System http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/68206-0-23-Im-a-Cupcake-Wannabe-%28Advanced-Hover-System%29)
  
• No debug menu/Overpowered mods (I'll say if they are OP)
  
• No Rocket engines EDIT due to popular opinions, Aerospikes no longer allowed.
  
• RCS is allowed (Not quite sure why this would be beneficial, but go crazy)
  
• The craft must be manned
  
• I don't think FAR will make a significant difference in times, but if it is shown that it does, there will be a separate leader board
  

Up to 5 seconds can be taken off the total time for crazy designs and craft, as judged by me.

Leaderboard:

1.Aphobius - 3:27 (3:33 with the bridge bonus)

2.Darren9 - 6.43 (6.46-3s for all electric and an awesome use of infernal robotics)

What's the point of this challenge if you can use cheats? Someone might as well make an autopilot that does everything by itself, is this a coding challenge?

No Rocket engines except for the aerospike

And this? xD What's so wrong with rockets, but fine with aerospike (which is also a rocket)?

It's fine to disallow rockets (including aerospike), since they make VTOLs much easier to control.

The idea of the challenge is nice, but with cheats and aerospikes ... I've lost all the interest in it.

EDIT 2: Anyway, I'll do it tomorrow, I'm at work right now. But since rockets are allowed, it's more like a lander challenge, eh, that's fun too. I just hope no one will abuse the cheats too bad.

You may want to insist on getting back into the craft after planting on the VAB roof to finish, that way you get the flight time of the vessel and not just the final EVA which must then be added to the vessel's flight time. Also I can "Launch from the runway" and be 1KM closer to the first target than the initial launch from SPH, start from the initial launch position?

And, I was just at the launch pad inside 5 mins and crashed, could put me slightly ahead

I made it around in my little SkyCar. Uses IR, Skeppies mini-pack, B9 and FireSpitter electric propellers. It's (6.32 + 14) 6.46 to plant the last flag and 6.57 to be back in the aircraft.

I tried 2 times and I had 2 kraken attacks when kerbal landed (falled from cockpit)

ok so first of all, cheats aren't allowed, i said no debug or OP parts. and anyway, whats the fun of cheating? yes you could technically cheat, but it wouldn't be counted by me

also, calm your tits this is my first challenge it was never going to be perfect

Thank you, but I didn't had too much practice, I find it kinda messy. If I'll have competition, I'm sure I can do much better. This is a nice challenge, the skill cap for flying that thing is very high, not sure it can be achieved.
