R2 d2 tatoo

I am on a short trip right now, and I want to get an Artoo de too tattoo before I leave. Specifically, I want the scene of artoo chasing an ewok with his arc welder in Rotj. I haven't been able to find it online and I don't have the electronics available to get it from the movie. If anyone can post this, I would be forever grateful, plus I'll post the tattoo for your pleasure.

I can't tell whether this is serious or not, but just in case I'm going to go on record as stating that this is probably a really bad idea...

A) I used to love Star Wars. I read every book, I played every game, watched the movies countless times, etc, etc, and I was convinced then that I would be a fan for life. Now, nostalgia aside, I think it's unbearably awful stuff.

Point being, tastes change drastically, sometimes over a very small period of time.

B) You have to know and trust your tattoo artist, particularly if you're going for 'realism'. Almost accurate realism, ie. even slightly skewed perspective, and I mean almost unnoticeable = a really bad tattoo.

I know plenty of people with bad tattoos (mostly from their teenage years) who really don't care at all about what others think, and seem to like their bad tattoos all the more because of their awfulness.

If you're this type of no-regrets person who just couldn't care less, I say go for it!

That said, I know more people with bad tattoos who hate them and wish they never got them, so if you're just having an impulsive moment, DO NOT DO IT!

The vast majority of tattoo regrets are the impulse-tats, and impulse tats are almost exclusively done by strange artists, often in strange locales, thereby increasing the likelihood that the tattoo itself will be bad, even if the concept was decent.

I'm not trying to poo-poo on anything here; I just want to make sure that you don't end up paying for a permanent regret. =)

I'm considering getting a 24601 tattoo (from Les Miserables), but just a little one like this:

I don't know, I would associate that a lot more with the involuntary internment of certain groups in the second world war than Les Miserables, to be honest. I think everyone in a concentration camp got a number like that. My guess is that you would have to explain that a lot.

Yes that was my first thought too, too many disturbing associations with getting numbers tattooed on the arm.

I had some done when I was a teenager, and although they are not bad looking I always keep them covered now.

It's funny how attitudes to stuff like this can change over the years, better to stay away from anything permanent I'd say.

I spent 3.5 months in Thailand last year...and got to know a lot of locals. Turns out, those tattoo shops you see everywhere, they are hilarious. Often tourists ask them for a tattoo saying "freedom" or "courage" in Thai...just to fly back home with a tattoo that really says "small ***** man" or "fat boy".

PS: Tattoos are perfectly fine...but if it's your first, pick a spot that isn't visible when you wear shorts and a tshirt (just in case you regret it).

PPS: Don't get the following tattoo...
