I really want a Hard Mode

I would really like a Hard Mode:

It would be Career Mode, with:

- no F5 save or F9 load, and

- no Revert (to launch or assembly).

This would add the objective of having to save astronauts from disastrous launches,

as when a Kerbal dies... he stays dead!

This would also add more impact to the budget in Career Mode,

as launch disasters would be money wasted.

You would also have to create rescue missions,

when ships run out of fuel in space or are damaged while landing on other planets.

This would also tie in well if they ever add Achievements.

I use this on my stream.

Also I refuse to quickload, but I quicksafe from time to time in case of a bug to appear.

Reverts are also prohibited so I have to think ahead how to safe Kerbals from exploding rockets or I test them with a Probecore

PLUS the Deadly Re-entry Mod to put some heat into my Space Program ;)

Ah yes, I noticed the perma-death setting before, but forgot about it. Personally, I use F5/F9 all the time, but I changed the setting since I think respawning a dead Kerbal is a bit silly.

FAR, DREC, RT2, TAC LS, SCANSat (no landing where you haven't surveyed); permadeath as already mentioned, RSS if you fancy it. Quicksave/load and reverts are your choice so if you don't want them, don't use them.

Please, please no achievements and all those other annoying ways to 'conform' to the social media flock.

This can easily be done now by simply editing your save file. Granted, you don't get the achievements or the big "HRDCRE" stamp on your save to say how badass you are, but it works just the same.

Try Lilliputian mode. Nothing larger than the tiniest of parts!

Apollo style, sort of. Munar lander, and RCS tug to haul it back to Kerbin. The landing failed in the usual manner, with a depressed me, and a freshly cratered Mun. Not enough delta-V.

I'm not too good at building small haha. Just an idea to throw out there for ya, Corsha.

If you are looking for more challange You can just not use saves and revert flight option, same effect.

EDIT_1: I wonder when Jeb will find rest of his clones hidden in the basement of KSC.

Who are you, and what have you done with Whackjob? Tiny parts? I demand to see a skyscraper-sized rocket right now, mister! :P

Of course to be really hardcore you also need to disable time acceleration. If you want to do a trip to Minmus you should be prepared to spend 5 days of actual time to get there.

And no bathroom breaks. Theres no flush toilet in a kerbal capsule so you can do without too. Ziplock baggies or adult diapers would be the realistic option.

Other people have told you how to do perma death and no revert/quickload.

If you want to make your hardmode even harder add in a life support mod and deadly reentry.
