Is everybody else having odd issues with helmets disappearing and reappearing with .25? With a craft on the launchpad, they don't have their helmets on. As soon as it launches though, they appear. Usually once I reach space, they disappear again until I EVA and reenter.

That is intended IIRC. They only have their helmets on it dangerous situations usually.

That is a feature from the Texture Replacer mod. Check that thread, you can disable it if you don't like it.

0.25 version very soon.

First the "core" pack, including the necessary plugins for easier installs.

Later the "extras".

You'll love it. Promise.

Ahh, that must be a newer feature since I last played. I remember they used to EVA without their helmet when in atmosphere, but they used to always have their helmets on while inside the craft itself.

I can't wait, but 1 Q: is there a way to get rid of the re-textures, I like my parts the way they are!

Edit: Nevermind, I'll just delete the TR files!

Anyways,

CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re-textures aren't in the TR folder...they're in the SQUAD folder IIRC.

Edit: Deleting the stuff from the TR folder will remove the beautified planet textures, the skybox, the space suits and the reflective visors that Proot has created.

Sec, working on re-downloading again to figure out exactly how Proot structured everything in the download. I'll let you know in a couple seconds...

Edit: So, I was wrong...he didn't include them in the SQUAD folder, but nested w/in the TextureReplacer folder.

You would want to delete/not merge the Squad folder that is in the TextureReplacer/Default/ folder.

The full path to the folder you want to delete or not merge is: KSPRC_v01.515.zip\GameData\TextureReplacer\Default\Squad\Parts

no Eve aurora? Hmph... Still thats awesome! I'll download this now (read: when I get a PC that can run it)

Might be one on Eve too...I don't recall specifically since I haven't played w/this pack since .24. If not, I'm sure you could dig through some of the .cfg files in the BoulderCo folder and try to figure out how to plop one in yourself. I don't think it's very difficult to set up and just re-use the aurora.png file for it.

I replace the textures with Texture Replacer, so your info is fantastic, but the solution is not so easy with archives where the normal map is originally called "model001". :(

No idea if it's still a problem or not, but all you have to do for those normal maps without NRM ending is to put the data from the red channel into the alpha channel and save it.

After that swap the red and blue channel will no longer matter. Just keep the green channel and put the red into the alpha - done.

Normal maps with *NRM should look purple, normal maps without that ending should appear to be grey or green. Just visually of course, not as if colours would matter for normal maps.

.mbm files are a bit different though.

Great info, many thanks!

Sorry people, I've been away on business this week. I'm working to release this as soon as possible. :)

I believe it would be allowed - Astronomer distributed an .assets file with the old AVP and he was featured on Modding Mondays and BA has an optional sunflare download in the OP. I don't think either of these would have escaped Squads attention so you may be in the clear.

'May' being the important word - I honestly have no idea, I'm just saying what's already happened. So yeah, I'm not truly informed about it :D

And not for Laythe either I guess?
