[Showcase] Showoff Your Rep-Worthy Crafts

Recommended Posts

I feel it's appropriate to share this, now that those itty bitty Mk 3 parts are out....

YES it works

YES it's stock (kerbpaint is all that i've used)

YES it's real-size (actually slightly larger than the real-life NASA shuttle)

My now dead Kawasaki P-1. Thanks for killing my favorite large craft in under a week, Squad... :P

Sea Ghost. I'm modernizing it with some 0.90 features.

Durable as Moses's rock.

I have a variant capable of over 40 m/s, but I'm only developing the non intake skipping variant, which goes at 11 m/s. Terrible speed, but I'm bunking down for any possible intake skipping fixes in 0.90.

I finally made a good Dassault Mirage III replica.

My old 0.24.2 Delta Monster

Javascript is disabled. View full album

Made with NearFuture, the B9 3.75 to 2.5 adapter and the NovaPunch2 3.75 reaction wheel.

It is possible to get 6-digit delta-V numbers with NearFuture, but I wanted to keep a reasonable TWR.

Please pm me if you want the .craft file.

@ExtremeTrader it may be possible to drag your apoapsis down to somewhere around Moho's altitude while still having enough delta V for a Kerbin return. Though if you do a full circularization around the sun, you'll have to go for direct entry or at least aerocapture as I'm certain you wont have the delta V to brake at Kerbin.

Honestly, I was too impatient for that as that burn would take quite some time...

I already made some crafts with more delta-V (around 70000 m/s) so I could try a 500km sun orbit and then a return

Oh, and thanks for the rep!

My new, pretty capable SSTO spaceplane. It uses a single rapier engine and 2 shock cone air intakes. No evil part clipping going on (just the nice one ;) ). The craft can be downloaded from my new Craft Exchange thread (link in my sig). Have fun!

Sometimes, more is less. But at other times, more is just more.

Meet the Kerbodyne Cloudbreaker. With enough thrust, anything is possible.

Holy crap we had similar ideas! The Mk2 crew cabin is awesome!

Though, my craft used a bit of clipping on the nuke engines....:o

Nice. I bet yours has much more punch. And i think part clipping is now supported by the standard game in a way it never was before. So aesthetic corrections on a craft are now pretty much allowed :). And yes, the crew cabin is a really versatile part. It is small, good looking and has good functionality.

I used the same technique on a return vehicle earlier. It wasnt able to make orbit, but it was pretty capable of returning 4 kerbals back to the KSC from orbit.

See it here

Great minds think alike... (there's also a nuke clipped in there)

Rune. Never made the final cut, though, can't remember why but it needed some fixing.

That nosecone doesn't look stock...
Looks like B9.

You're both correct. This thread explains why I boycott the stock NCS adapter & nosecone.

http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/102498-Examples-of-how-inexplicably-heavy-the-NCS-Adapter-is

There is a 100% stock version in the thread. It performs much more poorly than a version with the b9 adapter. It also looks much worse.

Makes sense. Now I need to finish that station...

This thread is quite old. Please consider starting a new thread rather than reviving this one.
