Kerbal N1 Mun mission.

Hi, just having some fun with a few mods and thought I'd share a fun mission I pulled off. Launch was the most difficult portion as the third stage didn't quite have enough DV to get me out of the atmosphere. I ended up having to pump about 3/4ths of the third stage's fuel into the second stage to get the altitude I needed. After that everything went pretty smooth, despite one of my injection engines overheating and blowing up. :D

-RLA stockalike

-Procedural Fairings

-HGR

I know some of the craft's accuracy is off, (Solar panels and LK ascent for instance) but all in all I had a lot of fun planning and flying the mission.

Very nice. Don't think I've done a full moon mission with the N1 yet, normally end up doing something slightly stupid like turning it into a plane. Never could get the dV balance for it to quite to my liking; so it does have a slight tendency to run out fuel too early, or still have tonnes left depending on payload, FAR, etc. Been playing with the HGR myself recently as well, they're great.

Also, did you happen to lose an engine on the munar injection stage?

Thanks I was trying to at least attempt to replicate the LK's ascent profile with the detachable legs. I haven't found a good way to build an LK clone that takes off properly and leaves the landing gear standing on the surface.

Since this mission I've also discovered that the Pfairings interstate looks better than the small RCS tank on top of the lander. Being able to adjust it's size is also a nice bonus.

This is very nice! I like how you incorporated two very awesome stock like mods, and it's awesome since you made the Soyuz like parts and Lack made the N1 to go with it. Download, possibly?

I use all of the mods you used, anyways. :)

Let me know how she handles. I wasn't using FAR, so if you are, you might have an easier time getting to orbit. I had to add winglets to the bottom by the way, because I play with a MM cfg that removes reaction wheels from all pods and that first stage kept falling over.
