CrisK
Beale, You're really on a roll. How do you design models so quickly? Do you work in Unity as part of your day job?I had some extra time and designed a "modern" Tanta-MIG styled after the 35. Lighter, twin engines, one large TAC canister and three small ones. The TantaMIG flies like a dream. Sadly, my first flight almost ended in disaster when I ran out of fuel. I was cocky. I thought that I could get into orbit with only 1/4th a tank of fuel. Pride goeth before the parachute.Javascript is disabled. View full album
DGatsby
While I am playing around, perhaps some of you part welders would like to do this? http://puu.sh/eGNet/9b9861ef2a.jpgOh goodness! What an interesting little ship! Could you include it? It would be a fun little space taxi to play around with. Also, this Soyuz revamp looks really great. At this point I think Tantares is like an official unofficial expansion pack for Kerbal, considering how well made and fleshed out the parts! Many thanks!Beale: I cannot explain this with saying my full name and a long convoluted explanation of how it relates to it, so, it is a mystery!I took the existing parts for a test spin:Mainly testing doors, but here are some shots.Lights, far too yellow. Would like to mess already with it's textures! :3Many thanks Textures:I put Hamal_Control_A_psd and Tantares_Orbital_A_psd into the repo, as they are totally finished.Still adding stuff to Tantares_Crew_A_psd, so I retain that for a while.of course, they are damn useless until people have the models. CrisK
Cool jet!How do you make these designs? My attempts always crash and burn.I designed only spaceplanes for an entire month. I find designing custom rockets tedious now, but spaceplanes are always a fun challenge. Actually, the only reason that I use rockets these days is because of historical parts packs like Tantares. A tip for anyone who wants to recolor really: if you simply use the paint bucket tool on the "base" layer, everything should still look the same, all layers above "base" are basically multipliers to add detail.I designed only spaceplanes for an entire month. I see.Well it is good to hear!Maybe I should design a plane model, to help me learn to build them.My most successful plane, basically a Cessna 152.The SRBs are a silly extra, it takes off and glides comfortably at 20m/s Edited January 18, 2015 by Beale

Beale
*Soyuz intensifies* HNNNNGBeale, can you make animation tutorial?Yes, I think maybe it would be good for part 5.Emissive also. I just have not the time to write and compile it at the moment.I like your soyuz revamp. feels abit more realisticalso would the next update break crafts? Thanks Yes, it will absolutely break any crafts using old Soyuz parts, it's a shame, but it has to be done.Update to some other craft (Salyut for example) would not break saves, because they were built to scale from the start, but the previous Soyuz was flat out the wrong size.TL;DR Undock your Soyuz(s), de-orbit and recover the crew, or they may disappear on update! The "generic" solar panel texture is empty, but soon, everything will be in it. Edited January 18, 2015 by Beale

Djolox
Something in SM was making me feel weird and I had no idea what it was, but then when I saw the soyuz pic, I found that it is because SM is just too blank and bottom RCS thrusters are standing Out too much. OM and DM really awesome, but I don't know how good is SM. I liked the old one more
DGatsby
I tried to do an Apollo-style Mun mission with the ATV and an ion lander. The ion lander didn't work, but the ATV performed with style.
