So much win :cool: It's great ! Have you tried more white stripes, or orange ones ? I really like the way it is going, but in my opinion, you should write vertically, as in orbit people usually like to have a " straight view " of their station. :)

What's happening with the PPTS and Kliper designs?

On hold while I'm busy IRL. They're a lot more intensive to do than revamping old parts.

This one is really great :) I wondered if you are planning to resize the V-MNP solar panel to get it a bit bigger ?

Hmm, not sure.

The V-MNP currently are stand ins for the panels found both on the core module and on the FGB modules (Which were smaller? Citation needed).

So it's kind of an intermediate size.

Still, I could have a look - the panels desperately need a revamp, they're among the oldest parts still hanging around.

With ISS as a reference, zvezda panels are definitely bigger than zarya's ones ( http://spacenews.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/Unity-Zarya-Zvezda_STS-106-e1425514440356.jpg ) about their exact sizes I have to investigate deeper. :sticktongue:

I wanted to share with you guys my " super amazing zond adventures " as KSP 1.0 is coming soon, we will have new ( and maybe more versatile ) fairings but in the meantime I still got troubles when I use procedural fairings to craft kinda real-ones looking fairings.. especially for the zond !

I like much the actual solar panels, the catch up the vanilla flavour of the game like no other parts, as you plan to revamp them, may I suggest you a darker " ocean blue " tone ?

the dependencies are (obviously tanta and tantaLV, procedural fairings ) OMSK and RLA stockalike for the MPR 45 engine ( I changed his config to be a lfo engine, you will have to change this engine, he is on the block D )

You could always make the panels compatible with tweakscale to get the desired size. This works already with the Gigantor XL Panels to make a decent third array for the Mir Core Module, although I long for a specialized part for it. :wink:

Nice mission, but why are you using the Mk 2 Tantares? It looks ugly compared to the new one, and hogs more texture space (I think). Also, why make a bootleg Block D instead of using the new Block D parts?

Do the old parts have some secret power that nobody knows about? :huh:

yup, even with aggressive, I've started using OpenGL (you loose shadows and VAB part highlighting), frame rate improves a lot (may be because there are no shadows) and you don't need ATM anymore.

Now I have to go build my own version of that ship (when 1.0 comes out of course) I've always liked that cockpit originally from Spaceplanes plus mod, lots of RPM monitors and an awesome view outside. I'm genuinely surprised that I haven't thought of that design myself since I like that two-kerbal plane cockpit (sorry, I never seem to notice what name parts use, I just look at the model and roll with it). :P

Thanks! Here's a better look at it. Obviously inspired by the "Eagle" from Space:1999. It's not totally stock, I use Tantares parts and parts from a small part mod called TurboNisuReloaded.

I actually removed that "extra" decoupler between stages 1 and 2. I was going for that "apollo effect" but the 2nd stage engines fire the fairing back into the 1st stage causing it to explode... :( The 4 small engines were added to the first stage because I modded the Cyclone engine to have a gimbal of 10 for Buran launches, so I have the gimbal locked in this launcher - the LV-T45s give me directional control during ascent.

Nice! :D Sadly though, I've never seen that show, seen only pictures of that Eagle ship and an old KSP mod which added it in the game. That ship has a nice practical shape to it. :)

It's got 2800m/s delta V, but unlike it's inspiration it's NOT fit to enter atmo, at least not with DRE installed. :D

The tech was the best part really... The show it's self was not so good. I agree about the practical appearance, it's one of the reasons I really like the Eagle.

Had a thought today. Seeing as we'll get to put Val Kerman in the crew roster in a week or so, could we put some nods to Valentina Tereshkova in the IVA for the Vostok capsule whenever that gets done? Maybe some un-opened food items, or a medal she was awarded post-flight?

Nice Zond! (The same for SpaceEagle)

Solar panel colour: They currently are almost this exact tone... atleast to my Photoshop colours.

I think it is the specularity factor in-game making them seem a bit brighter.

Yeah please share! My setup:

i7 4790

16 GB DDR3 RAM

AMD Radeon R7 265

beyond 400 parts I can't get more than 25 FPS, and at 1000 parts .... may be 12 FPS!

i7 may have lower single-core clock speed, which will be the limiting part.

I'm on an i5-3570, 3.4GHz (GHz! We live in the future it is true).

I might argue i5 are better for gaming, since not a lot of games really make good use of multi-core processing (And some not at all, nudge nudge KSP).

Clock speed is still important even this day and age.

But, let's not get into that rabbit-hole.

Noooo, not a good solution for me personally. I would rather make two panel types. :)

Can't love that any more if I tried, really nice (And I instantly though "eagle" when I see it :D)

Reminded me a lot of the Shuttle from Orbiter also!

Looks great! Is that a new 1.25 to 2.5 adapter on top? I like the look of that! :)

For the Salyut forward docking section, I usually use your 1.25 crew tank, with a 1.25 to .625 docking drogue. I like it, but it feels just a bit too long for Salyut. Ideally, it'd be about 3/4 of the length from end to end. Any chance while you're in "Salyut-mode", you could investigate a solution for replicating the look and feel of that forward docking module? (A circular hatch would be great on a part like that.) It'd also probably great as a Kvant-2 airlock part. Just a small wish-list.

I know you're likely closing in on your final exams, good luck, and keep us updated on your IRL projects. :P
