I have a feeling English isn't your first language so what you wrote may sound fine to you but come off wrong for other people.

English is my first language. And really my only, if you don't count the little spanish and german I know.

The... C-3POyuz?

Hahaha. Now stop with the puns. It hurts. But I do like that color. More alt colors are needed. Bls gib.

Something small that has been missing for a while, Lunniy Orbitalny Korabl components.

Should sneak in an update with these parts and all the recent configs people have kindly made (Though I'm going to be a bit busy with work in the coming days).

I plan the large service module and the docking mechanism.

With this dedicated Lunar craft, I could reduce the Delta V of the Tantares, thoughts?

wow Beale ... more and more ideas :D awesome ... this pack is slowly becoming a full stock-a-like russian (and mre) pack :)

So true. It is a must have pack for me these days and the best part is despite having a lot of parts its ram usage isn't too bad. :)

Love the new LOK! It sounds interesting to restrict Tantares to LKO (i.e. dV of around 900 - enough for maneuvers, but not sufficient to do a Mun mission, although flyby is possible)

Also, a fun Soviet Moon mission project that I found. Man, even the third stage consists of radial boosters

I personally wouldn't be happy about that, since I regularly dock Tantares with stations in Kerbisynchronous Equatorial Orbit.

I like the idea of the luna craft too, but I think dropping Tantares dV below 1000 would seriously diminish this wonderful and fun craft. :(

Currently Tantares has 1300 m\s; reducing it to 900 won't affect its ability to reach KEO. Just use your final stage for transfer burn. Besides, real Soyuz have small dV (390 m\s for TMA; less for early versions).

I knew that was coming. :) Yes, the real Soyuz has considerably less dV, but that would make for a pretty boring game of KSP.

Tantares is a Stockalike Soyuz and blends well with the stock game - Why would you want it to be considerably less useful (and less fun) than the equivalent stock parts?

Anyway, I just hope the nerf doesn't end up being that drastic. :(

I think Tantares has a just right amount of DV, it may be used in nice LKO operations such as transfer from station to station (Like it was IRL with Salyut 7 and Mir) and maintenance operations.

From feedback, I think Tantares Delta V will remain the same.

Thank you Beale!

Man, this is shaping up well!

These teaser images always have me looking forward to the next release! :D

Nice! :)

Very nice indeed! I really like the texture of the beige ring part that surrounds the engine (Sorry, I don't know what that parts called!)

Haha thanks!

(I have no idea on the name either, some kind of foil blanket, based of this :) )

Anyway, it is fairly capable. I believe it could get into Jool orbit, with aerobraking.

Too overpowered?

(The generate slowly consumes LF/OX to produce electricity when active, so your Delta V is always "ticking" down)

Haha, I'm happy to refer to it as the "soft bit" :D

Personally, seems fine to me!

I could semi-randomly choose a stock LF tank and a mid-tech stock engine, and get the same dV (if not more) - so I would argue that it is not overpowered, but in line with stock. Hell, if you visit the Spacecraft Exchange Forum you will see plenty of stock SSTO spaceplanes that arrive in orbit with more dV than this.

Rather than seeing it as being capable of interplanetary travel in KSP's shrunken star system, I prefer to see it as capable of operations between Minmus or the Mun, and spacestations before needing to be refuelled. Sounds like fun to me!

Plus I like the electric generator idea - that adds a neat dV cost over time.

Other people may have different opinions though!

Thanks! :)

Your creations always impress me! To think that SSTO can lift all that to orbit is crazy.

TST "Farshot" Engine.

Similar ISP to normal Tantares Engine, slightly higher thrust.

Roughly double the fuel.

Bigger Engine is always good!

And thats a nice new texture variant too. :)

That too!

I'm sort of torn. I like the "Lego" frame of mind mentioned in the OP, and the way the stock textures mix with my other parts.

But at the same time, these alternative textures are so cool! :D

New engine is looking very good!

Also it seems fine to me that you decided to raise its dV rather than lowering Tantares capabilities. This creates new possibilities to use both old and new engine.

I agree with The14th - the electric generator is a good solution to keep everything balanced.

It doesn't say it on the interwebs what the D/V is for the LOK, so I really have no idea. And as for the generators, we have no liquid hydrogen or oxygen, so what else are we gonna use?:sticktongue: Keep up the good work with your extra-modular parts.

checking in to say that the farshot looks amazing!

Many thanks!

After some tests, the generator works out pretty well.

The consumption rate is fine for short week long missions around the Mun and Minmus, but go farther out and you'll start to get serious "boil-off" as the fuel is burnt up for power.

One question about generator - will it be togglable? Or just one shot?
