It's looking not so short)(a jackal quality photo, but it's a real Salute-1 in space) And one more thing (I'm being dull, I know it ) - "long" bodies for Salute-7 and Mir are a bit different. Mir had two extra illuminators on port and starboard sides in crew cabins. Will it be three bodies or just two for simplicity? Or maybe an extra illuminator part? I'm making separate Salyut and MIR parts, because exactly there are these kind of differences in sizing between them. For simplicity, just two bodies, but could be re-visited in future (With Salyut 7 red stripes).

Hi, Beale) I was thinking - maybe it'll better be a short Salyut-1 one-illuminator body, long Mir three-illuminator body and something in the same diameter like that big monoprop tank with a side hatch from the old version of Tantares to extend short Salyut-1 body to long Salyut-6 one? Three different parts for building three different bodies and even more. Edited February 16, 2017 by Legcutter

Daelkyr
Just to let you know that your older Salyut/Mir parts are still getting some love. CaptKordite
More love for the old parts. My 1.2.2 Mir. I will be starting on rebuilding my 1.0.4 Mir-2 shortly. 19 hours ago, Daelkyr said: Just to let you know that your older Salyut/Mir parts are still getting some love. Very strange.. I will have to take a look when I have a chance. Airlock? This is tricky, Suggestions where to put an EVA hatch on MIR would be much appreciated. CaptKordite
1 hour ago, Beale said: Suggestions where to put an EVA hatch on MIR would be much appreciated. Mir's airlock was on the Kvant-2 module. In KSP, I used a V-DOS-F "Smoke" module with a Contares UHC Protection Cap. It looks a lot like the end of the Kvant 2 module but not functional at that point. The ISS has the Pirs Docking Compatrment. Illustrations of Mir-2 also shown the Pirs module. And there is also the ShM. In all of these cases, if you could take the Contares UHC Protection Cap as a base, add a window and some handrails, and make it work as a hatch and you would have it. Tiktaalik's Airlock Collection does this in some ways.
Abrecan
Aye, Kvant 2 seems to be the only EVA Airlock with EMU onboard MIR. It wasn't til after Kristall docks to lower port where EVAs were used for the Strella and Sofora mast.

Early MIR missions (before Kvant-2) used it. @CaptKordite Nice links! The Kvant 2 airlock is great, I will have to replicate it properly this time. For simplicity and practicality, I've added a small airlock to the core module. Edited February 18, 2017 by Beale
