Best Not to Try These

Distant Object Enhancement (Note: Requires Toolbar, so not recommended)

Environmental Visual Enhancements (Note: Found to be mostly incompatible with Krags Planet Factory)

FAR 0.13.3

Toolbar (Note: Incompatible with some mods, recommended not to install)

Don't Try These

B9 Aerospace v4

Infernal Robotics

I'm running all of those mods on the x64 version with no issues at all

I have several of those without issue as well. The Toolbar in particular seems to work exactly as intended.

I've got:

Active Texture Management

B9 Aerospace

Cabana Corp

Caterpiller Tracks

Compartment Tubes

Connected Living Space

Custom Biomes

D.E.R.P.

DMagic Orbital Science

Docking Port Alignment Indicator

Editor Extensions

Enhanced Navball

Final Frontier

FTmN

Fusebox

Kerbal Attachment System

Kerbal Alarmclock

Kerbal Joint Reinforcement

Kethane

KW Rocketry

Lack Luster Labs

Infernal Robotics

Interstellar

MechJeb 2

Modular Fueltanks

Near Future Propulsion

Parts Catalog

Precise Node

RCS Build Aid

Remote Tech 2

RollKage Mk 1 & 2

Safechute

SCANsat

SceneJumper

Select Root

Smart Parts

Spaceplane Plus

Texture Replacer

Tac Fuel Rebalancer

Spherical Tanks

Universal Storage

Vanguard Technologies EVA Parachutes

I have run into a few crashes, but none of them have been memory related. So far I'm able to maintain 20+ fps even with FRAPS running while docking at stations.

Realism Overhaul + ALL mods supported by it (except ignitor pack - I hate it) are OK.

Playing without texture manager (thus bloating process over ~5.5Gb) is OK.

Most crashes were caused by FASA reflection plugin. It can be deleted from FASA pack to avoid problems.

I'm not sure what the fuss is about. The Toolbar Plugin is agnostic to third-party plugins. Either it works with all of them, or it doesn't. There is no middle ground.

I'd say the OP needs an update.

I would agree. A lot of the mods that the OP states are incompatible worked for me as well.

My list, or most of it: (all versions are latest release)

Toolbar

B9 (with fix for 23.5)

Final Frontier

vanguard

TACLife support

Procedural parts

Action Group Manager

Active Texture Management (aggressive, if it makes any difference)

Advanced Animator

Control From Here

Chatterer

Connected Living Space

Crew Manifest

Exsurgent Engineering (plugin from another mod, B9 I think)

Firespitter (plugin only)

KineTech Animation

Kerbal Attachment System (havent tested the parts in game yet)

KW Rocketry

Lionhead Aerospace

LackLuster Labs

Infernal Robotics

MechJeb

Final Frontier

NovaPunch

Procedural Wings (doesn't seem to be working, but no crash)

Procedural Fairings

Procedural Parts

RCS Build Aid

ResGen

ScanSat (and SS for all)

Surface Lights

Ubio Welding

Vessel View

Module Manager

Vanguard EVA chutes

The game is stable, though some mods don't appear to be functional... mainly Procedural wings, though the other procedurals do work. KAS is the only one in the group that remains untested on my install.

KAX does *NOT* appear to work, resulting in a lockup at startup.

Attention ladies and gentlemen!

A user (I forgot your name, sorry :( PM me if you found it with proof) found a nifty little bug bypasser!

In the KSP folder, replace the mono.dll with the one from Unity 4.5.1, not the normal one.

EDIT: OP reorganized with new mods and better explanations.

Crossposting here in case anyone experienced this:

Getting the weirdest bug.

If I try to timewarp my ship quickly comes back to 1x speed. From then on, I can't warp anymore because the ship is under acceleration. Worse still is that the ship starts wobbling and can't accelerate anymore. It's just frozen over Kerbin, rendering the game unplayable.

Anyone know what causes this?

This sounds like a standard 0.23.5 bug. I know I've had a frozen orbit before, and I think I've had the timewarp thing as well. Did you have any claws or asteroids on your ship? That's usually what causes it, I think. (those things are BUGGY)

EDIT: The timewarp thing might also have been Mechjeb. Was a Mechjeb pod on your ship?

gpisic, can you confirm this?

I have been trying to get OpenResourceSystem (the base version rather than Interstellar itself) working on 64bit, and so far the only thing that doesn't work is the ground based resources - all detectors show 0ppm so it looks like it isn't being generated at all.

All atmospheric resources work ok though.

I have tried to remove all but one dll as you say but it seems to make no difference. Does your ground-based mining still work?

I can tell you only for Interstellar, i just tested an Aluminium rocket + refinery on the Mun and i can mine Alumina there and electrolyse it into Aluminium + Oxidizer without problems.

Can't tell you about other mods that might use the OpenResourceSystem.

Interesting, I'll give that a try.

Kerbal engineer Redux works only halfway ...

physical values for orbital and surface tabs are displayed correctly,

but everything that has to do with ships parts (i.e. Vessel display in flight or in build mode) is borked due to a missing field exception
