My "extremely painful" advice:

It might be the case you'll have to split the either the Docking port or heatshield into a separate part.

There are certain blips with the animation modules that KSP doesn't seem to like when you have multiple animations, which is really annoying.

Splitting the shield into a separate part may bring some further benefits, such as mounting the capsule on any 2.5m stack, and a nice 2.5m landing support that you can use for other craft. :)

You probably will know, but the Russian PPTS uses a near identical landing system to the V2 (Well, I don't think quite as sophisticated), so I would run into similar problems soon (two animations on PPTS, window lights and landing legs)

Hmm, yeah that is going to be kind of difficult since the landing gear clips up into the V2. But I'll see what I can do.

Awesome! I would love for you to make a stock-a-like Falcon 9!

ALSO: Placeholder texture? I couldn't even do something half as good!

Thanks and actually the current texture is not a placeholder. I should update the OP lol.

This is amazing!

I love it a lot.

How is the Delta-V? If you have finalized balance yet.

Thank you! I haven't really balanced the DeltaV yet but ATM it has 2902, 3202 m/s (atmo, vac).

EDIT: Docking works!

I feel like it should have 1 km/s of delta-v at most. It's only supposed to be an orbital transport, after all, not a fully capable self-contained interplanetary vehicle. Looks really good, you've been makinga lot of progress the last few days!

So I have a question for you people, how should it have RCS? Should I edit it so the pod has built in RCS or do something different (since it's not a replica) and put the RCS on the trunk?

Yeah that's probably what I'm going to do.

Built-in RCS tends to cause various problems, such as the RCS not always firing. I haven't had any of these problems myself, though. It seems like some parts experience the problems, and others don't - the Dragon by CBBP works fine, but the Apollo SM by Lovad doesn't. Maybe it has something to do with being the root part or not?

I'm probably just going to have the RCS as a separate part and make it a bit low profile. I'm currently working on the trunk, I'll have some pics to show later tonight.

We need a beta for this, even if it's just the pod. SpaceY will work fine for me for launchers.

Speaking of SpaceY, I like the diabimus design. Monoprop engines with built-in RCS is something that no one else has really done.

I would rather wait for the RCS and the trunk to give a beta for this since the pod can do much other than land and dock atm. Not sure what you are saying about SpaceY about the monoprop thing?

Please? I can live without RCS and the trunk. I can make my own.

Texture of the trunk is done, working on the unity stuff now, after that I will do the small RCS part.

EDIT: So far so good...

Really love the look of the Trunk V2, it has got a nice "retro" feel, you've captured that nicely. :)

The transform setup to make the solar panel coating functional will be very interesting to see, I'm very intrigued to see how it works out, as I'd quite like to make a few parts with a solar coating.

That looks really neat so far. A RPM based IVA like this would be awesome.

Yeah I plan to make an IVA for it eventually but for now it will just be a placeholder. BTW how much kerbals should this hold?

Thanks! I have a slight idea of how to make the solar panel coating functional because Near Future has a curved solar panel and I think the trunk in Laztek is functional. :)
