thx for great mod .

I recently switched my OS from windows7 to Ubuntu to avoid Oops in KSP

but it's really hard to set up EVE and RVE in linux 64bit...

I've followed readme.txt (in Linux branch) but it seems not working properly...

I've installed all RSS and RO mods via ckan and then

install EVE-Overhaul(from x86 zip file) and erase all BoulderCo folder and copy RVE and Scatterer

> missing cloud or black sky, kinda things happened like there's no texture (Alt+E didn't help)

if I placed BoulderCo in my gamedata, textures come back, but I see a BIG red haze around the sun

EVE(old master branch) // EVE-Overhaul

RVE(master branch) // RVE (linux-64bit ver)

BoulderCo or not... I've tried many combinations from these but nothing worked

please... I would be really appreciated if someone tell me which files I have to use

and how to combine them

thanks :)

Hi,

I just want to tell that I'm an Ubuntu x64 user and I encouter the same problems that ubuntu and BevoLJ :

- I got black sky and sometimes very strange lower clouds (flickering or moving at very fast speed ?) after installing RVE as described by the discussion with kuba1410 (look at page 152-153 in this thread)

1. Downloaded scatterer

1. Copied the RVE and scatterer folders from the RVE linux repo to gamedata

2. Copied the EnvironmentalVisualEnhancements folder from the zip filed in the Overhaul branch of EVE to gamedata

3. Copied the BoulderCo folder from the zip in the Overhaul branch of EVE to gamedata and deleted Atmosphere, CityLights, Terrain folders

- In the tracking station, the Earth appears as named 'Kerbin', so that leads to break all my current carreer's contract (and leads to incompatibilty with RP-0 in all cases)

I would also advertise that since yesterday, EVE Overhaul has been updated. With this new release you'll see a space starry night instead of the space center, that make the game unplayable.

Starting a new carrer will show you a dialog telling you that your game is broken, and I should to tell that it's right.

So I recommend to be very carreful before you to update EVE Overhaul to the new version : backup your file!

To get older x86-Release.zip follow this link https://github.com/rbray89/EnvironmentalVisualEnhancements/blob/0d0f0b2a89353a9b3a323c7191639b3ff9bb62ac/x86-Release.zip and click on "View raw".

@Pingopete : Which version of scatterer do you recommend? I use the last one (delivered via ckan : v0.01781), and the config file you have pushed on github seem to not match the same pattern than the version I have (by looking at there file name and content).

And thanks for youre amazing mod! I could see what it looked on KSP v0.9.0! So I hope to see it working in my KSP v1.X.X. in the future :)

Very simple: when you're going to Venus just uninstall RVE and put EVE clouds in your gamedata. That's how I've done it.
I got RVE working on my Let's Play Career! \o/

Still trying to get Venus and Titan to work. After uninstalling RVE, I can't seem to get EVE to recognize anything. Neither the EVE clouds or the ones you sent me.

I tried reinstalling Scatter as it was before doing the RVE patch, and even tried it with the RSS patch that comes with it. None of them seem to help EVE recognize Venus or Titan.

Woah... mine is broken unfortunately, maybe because I'm a mac player? Oh well, wait till 1.1
Are there plans to distribute this great pack over ckan?

At the moment its heavily WIP/buggy as hell so results vary. Going to a ship from the tracking screen breaks things completely so unless you're doing a launch from scratch don't expect anything to work.

Why does this look so good? Last time I checked RSS was flat as hell and barely had any mountains or hills. When did this change?

I've no idea but there's definitely hilly terrain. Here's a couple of pics where I was trying to recreate that landing for Stratochief on reddit (I re-entered short though): http://imgur.com/a/9NPdS

Thanks for all the hard work on Scatterer btw. I've probably spent more time trying to get everything looking pretty than I have doing my actual KSP career...

That honestly looks awesome, do you have a location on where that is (can't see anything in the map view, looks like south america or something)?

I'm not at home so couldn't check ksp itself, but from matching the coast up with the terrain texture and checking that same point on google maps it looks like I landed here. About half way between Taiwan and Japan. I was almost out of o2 so I just went for the first bit of water I could reach for a daylight landing.

Try flying East from vanderburg Airforce base at about 15km :) Also the mountains look cool but they're all about 2-3x the height they should be :/ e.g. mountains in the rockys are like 10km high D: Apparently it can be fixed but requires some tweaking with the RSSKopernicus pqs transform variables

I guess it's time for me to put together a plane and go fly around RSS.

Here's a quick pic with RVE near Vanderburg AFB

That looks cool. Is that using the RVE version on github or something you're working on? My ground textures look weird from that low down.

Cannot get this to work for the life of me.

Started today with clean install of everything.

This is what I have been doing.

Install KSP via steam

Install RO & RSS via CKAN

Install Scatterer via CKAN

DL Win32 EVE overhaul using link in readme file

Extract BoulderCo and EnvironmentalVisualEnhancement folders to Game Data

Delete Atmosphere, CityLights & Terrain folders from inside BoulderCo

Extract RVE folder & scatterer folder (overwrites 2 files) into Game Data (ignore environmentalvisualenhancements in zipfile)

Extract SharedAssets9 file into KSP Data

When I load up the game I get a pink planet on the startup screen. When I go to start a new game I see empty space, no command centre.

Are you using D3D11? If so it doesn't work.

I have directx 12?

Going to presume this isn't an issue?

I think KSP uses D3D9 unless you override it with an argument in the shortcut (-force-d3d11 for example) or the steam launch options. If you haven't added anything like that then it sounds like missing textures. Have you got an 'RSS-Textures' folder in Gamedata? If not you can install them via CKAN.

Not messed around with DX. I have Windows 10 and DX12 installed as default.

I have RSS-Textures in Gamedata installed through CKAN at the same time as RO & RSS

I've no idea then. They're the only two things I've come across that cause everything to go pink. Have you a look through your ksp.log or used Exception Detector to see if anything looks off?
