Good suggestions :) I'm actually circling around to this mod as it needs some love, and I was just having fun working on the DERP's little cousin:

That looks awesome. That looks like it would fit the bill for ship-to-ship shuttling quite nicely, not to mention an ideal command module for surface mining operations, or spider walkers, oh boy, the possibilities are growing! You sir are a wizard.

Would this environmental suit thingy happen to use any number of legs and potentially "arms"?

Nice to see that more pods using JSI Transparent Pod (at least I think that one is using it) are coming around. This is the 4th one I've seen, and only 1 has been released (nil2work's panopticon, and he is making 2 more pods too).

Found the RC from Mihara. Will try..

Has anybody made an update to the config related to the recent TAC Life Support resource changes? As it stands now (at least in my possibly-completely-borked install) you run out a food in seconds and carry a station's worth of water. I'd do it myself but can't really figure out how it works...I don't recognize the numbers in the capsule's "LifeBoat" modules and all of the resources it contains are supposedly only 0.1 units in the config but they aren't in the game...

You should run out of food in seconds :) You can live without food for 30 days. There is a config however where you can change amounts for food, water, and oxygen.

For the one other part I edited to contain TACLS resources (SpaceplanePlus's crew cabin), I added "RESOURCES," but in DERP's config all those resources are listed as being 0.1 units (default empty) in the Capsule and aren't listed in the Engine. The "LifeBoat" module in the Capsule lists this:

	foodAmount = 0.0001
waterAmount = 5.39
oxyAmount = 1141

But those aren't the amounts that show up in the game either, at least as far as I remember. I recall having thousands of units of water; I think in the two-thousands somewhere. I can't start the game up at the moment to look, though...are those the numbers I should be looking at? What do they do exactly?

Those are the values you get when the lifeboat is unpacked.

I'm not sure if it's a change in Kospy's programming, but right now i can't assemble the Lifeboat with KAS, the Lifeboat module has no attach option.

I used the H key to attach the propulsion module, grabbed a capsule, and used the Store option on the propulsion section.

What makes me not want to use this mod is how things like lifesupport are handled via a .ddl file. I mean, really? Why not do it via MM config or the part itself. Some people actually like configuring the amount of supplies that come with a part. I'm sorry if this offends you, but I see no valid reason to do resource configuration any other way other than a config file or any other file that an end user can easily edit to their liking. I can understand that the animation would take a special file, but there's no way that the resources have to be handled that way. I was pretty excited to try this mod, but this killed it for me...

No offense taken, though maybe saying something like 'Hey, why does this use a DLL?' versus just coming off as kinda rude would have been a better approach.

The reason there is a DLL is because of how the life boat unpacks life support supplies. The logic being that is that the last thing you want to do is accidentally eat all of your life support supplies, or have them mess up your crew equations, or hop in and find out that due to flow rules, your life support supplies are already half gone.

Sorry about the rudeness, half-awake me can be an ass. I saw that after I re-read the post.

Anyway, I can understand the logic behind not wanting it to eat through your supplies on the emergency ship, but that can also be accomplished by pressing the green arrow next to the resource and turning into a red circle with a line through it. Maybe the best option would be to have a configuration that allows you to put the desired amount of resources you want in the pod, and then the DLL can read from that. Another approach you could have is one that uses the DLL, and the other set uses values that are added via MM or the part CFG itself. I really do like this mod, but this is the only thing stopping me from using it. Hopefully you'll have these options in the future.

I've never modded this game, but I've released a mod here-and-there both program and simple game mechanics. The one thing that I've learned through that process is allow as many things as humanly possible available for the end user to tweak. That way they can have every little thing they want with no hassle at all. The only thing that's needed is a small "read me" section explaining what the variables do.

Once again, sorry for being an ass before. I hope this explains what I was explaining / asking for in the previous post. I'm hoping we can work something out in the future. Looking forward to hearing back from you.

Once again, sorry for being an ass. I'll try to comment on things when I'm than 20% here :D!

No worries.

The green arrow is too easy to forget (some people put like.. .twenty of these things on rescue ships). You can already adjust amounts via config, though I do plan on extending that a bit and let people put snacks/etc there instead. Why the aversion to the DLL? plugin code is not unusual in KSP ;)
