Iron man Mode?

Has anyone done a successful career in Ironman mode? i.e. no revert flights, no F5-F9 silliness, no mods.

I run only vanilla, and I find it quite difficult to do. There is usually some glitch or crash that forces a Revert flight for me.

If there's a bug that causes a catastrophic problem and you don't revert or quickload that's not steely resolve, that's masochism :)

I can see (though I can't bring myself to do it) abandoning all save/load/revert actions for when I screw up. Botch a landing, miscalculate fuel, forget ladders or to add my landing gear with symmetry, or any of a number of things I do. But if I get a ship all the way to Tylo and when my guy steps out he vanishes and the altimeter goes to 66666666? Yeah there is no way I'm accepting that as "just something that happened."

Well, right. If the program itself has an unfortunate miscalculation, it would mess up any Ironman attempt. It has happened to me on several occasions.

I use Revert for testing aircraft, rovers, launchers. Perhaps if there were a 'prototyping' mode before a craft could be manufactured?

There is... its called 'sandbox'

But then I think all ships should be saved in named folders that you can access from career mode or sandbox.... so you can build/test in sandbox , then move over for the iron man challenge... which sounds kinda fun to try

Ironman Eve return mission anyone?

well, when i play "ironmode" i usually use revert only for "spontaneous disassembly when loading", so basically for reloading the craft. Usually on the second attempt it holds up fine on the launchpad. Oh, and F5 when using robotic arms...because of Kraken.
