Fuel/Kethane transfering, where did i mess up?

Recommended Posts

Hey guys.

So i made a space station and a kethane drill ship.

I filled it up with kethane and im trying to transfer the kethane into the converter unit. But it wont let me!!! Did i do something wrong?

Here you can see the ship that digs for Kethane and the thing coupled to the space station

Do you notice anything that could block the flow? If so, do i just delete the fuel crossfeed=false line in the config of the specific part?

The docking ports, perhaps. Have you tried making a little monoprop? That would help you pin down whether the problem is with kethane going into the converter or products going out.

Define "transfer the kethane into the converter unit." Kethane doesn't work that way.

You have a converter. You have Kethane on the ship. You try to create something else and that doesn't work? What "something else" are you trying to make?

I'm going to take a stab and say it's liquid fuel of oxidizer. Those need to follow the same rules they follow for engines.

Pretend your converter is an engine. Do you have any fuel tanks hooked up so it could run? It doesn't look like it though ships as complex as yours are hard to figure out sometimes.

Converters fill fuel tanks in the same way that engines drain them, including backwards through yellow fuel lines. Build a ship with fuel tanks connected DIRECTLY (and not radially!) to the converter and those tanks will fill. Connect others with yellow fuel lines with the arrows pointing towards the converter and those will fill as well.

The same restrictions do not exist for rcs or any other resource.

The converter's weird in that way ... it "consumes" negative fuel. You don't HAVE to connect directly to the converter, but it's the safest bet (my miner's fuel tanks connect to one of the big kethane tanks, which is stacked with the converter).
