SpaceX Parts

So, you guys have officially gotten NASA on board. How about SpaceX parts? It would be awesome to see their Merlin engines available and have access to a 7-kerbal Dragon pod.

Wow, even the Mods are doing this now? If he was asking for a mod, he would ask in the Addons section... (Just saying, not trying to be rude. I see this way too much, and its not really contributing to the thread.)

Oh, yes please. I second this. Problem is, how would I work? Would SpaceX do a collab like the NASA one? Or would squad simply do SpaceX styled or themed parts? Personally I would prefer a collab, for obvious reasons. Would we have engine clusters? Would they be mounts and multiple engines? How would they scale against the other engines in the game? How much would they cost? Where would they fit on the tree? How much SpaceX stuff do we want to add? Dragon, F9, F9H, FX, FXH, FXX? All points for discussion IMO. (Oh, and would we finally, finally get fairings? XD)

Since KSP is a commercial product, I doubt they could just decide to put SpaceX parts into the game without first making sure that SpaceX will be okay with it, at the very least.

They almost certainly couldn't use the SpaceX trademark without SpaceX's approval, but they could try to do similarly-styled rockets. The ARM parts don't have NASA logos, remember.

Actually, they do. The ARM update actually added a NASA flag, presumably for the purpose of placing it on the ARM parts.

OK, but the parts themselves don't have to have the flag (I didn't know the flag was added, as I never used it). If they made SpaceX-style parts like they made NASA-style parts but did *not* add a SpaceX flag, I can't see where there'd be a legal issue.
