Stephanie the Viking
Someone posted a pretty good tweakscale config in the tweakscale thread, see here : TweakscaleMake sure you grab both configs off that post, use that config myself and it works well.Thank you for pointing this out, now I can make anything I want. nli2work
I have a few small rover parts in the cooker for you folks that like to build small designed for KAS and Roverdude's Packrat Rover kit. for now a half size Ka fuel jug; regular size portable generator; and a deployable drill; all in the same format as Packrat Rover crates. nli2work
Sounds cool, do they animate out of the crate form into little things?they won't be in a crate crate. they will be in the same cubic form.the drill will have the most animation; still need to take a look at the existing drills for the config setup. the generator won't move a whole lot, just a little dial that loops while it's on. I'll let Rover configure them so they attach like the rest of the packrat crates. most reasonable use would be to extend the range of rovers without relying on solar panels or RTGs I suppose. GlacialFires
Ah, got it thanks. Inside the fresh karbonite DL there's two, just axed the one in Community Resource pack and it works fine.

corvustech
On the thread of more resources I am for it but best define now what we want them to do and stick with it. A periodic table so to speak . For instance, Jebtonium might be a mineral which we want to power a very massive power plant for a ship...but not bunny trail into getting all the materials actually required to manage fission. If there are new resources, then they should be mined, refined, stored, then consumed. 1:1 with the usage to keep it simple.
corvustech
KarbonKarbon-XKarboniumKarbiteIf you're not married to the "Kar-" theme:ThausiteAuradiumAcoustiumCadmiteDenatured ViridogenEusiteExotic ParaniumRhodusGravirilLow-density HeliociteNegative OrichagenOpaque RubideomiteQuasimiteRadioactive CelestinPhaganiumTerrogenThermusTransparent VanadoniteUnstable RetrineZymoniteKespene. It needs to be done in a way that so closely mimics Kethane that fans of Kethane find more appeal in Karbonite than they do now. Another angle would be to do what EVE-Online does. Roll them by rarity based on alphabetical serialization. That puts Karbonite right there as the average, where Squadium might be particularly rare and Antibolony would be everywhere or vice-versa. forsaken1111
EVE goes the other way though, with A being the rarest.I like the sound of Kespene though.WE REQUIRE MORE KESPENE GAS.

nli2work
should be available soon, the configs look pretty straight forward. just need to finish up the animations and get them exported.any ideas for 1 more piece? feels like something is missing. I could do a purely decorative tool rack type of thing... but not coming up with any ideas for a functional piece.

Angelo Kerman
How about a mini converter unit? Maybe something that can extract oxygen from karbonite.
nli2work
So this is what I am thinking. Now that we have the core stuff out of the way, I'm considering adding a resource with a much more restrictive availability, but one that will behave in superior ways than Karbonite. i.e. go find and mine this stuff, because it lets you do end-game things. It's still ORS, so no running out - the challenge is not in finding the stuff. The challenge will be more about where it is located at. Specifically, Eve's surface (because it's a bear to get anything into orbit from there), and Eeloo (because of it's accessibility, and it currently has no Karbonite). It will also be found in asteroids in small quantities with the right equipment.is it possible to make it detectable only from the surface, or very close to the surface, like less than 1km altitude? this way we can give rovers and ground vehicles another role to play. a planet might have half a dozen spots (same locations as normal hot spots), but can't tell from orbit. is this possible with ORS? SCANSat has a mechanism like this for anomaly signals. If ORS can't handle it, maybe SCANSat can.
