What's your vision of a Utopia? (No critique allowed)

Although Utopias are pure fantasies, their concepts are very interesting. A society with problems cut to a minimum, a society where there is almost no conflict, and many other visions of sustainable societies.

The point is, I would like to see your visions regarding these fantasy societies. How they are made does not matter. The very visions are the most important. Thus, I recommend people to not criticize the visions of others, for doing such an action would be completely unnecessary.

My template is pretty basic. Anyone's guess as to whether or not this would work or if people would actually start hoarding and fighting over ridiculous things that had no practical value...

Unfortunately, FTL travel or some other equivalent technology is necessary. Spread fast, harvest resources like lightning, far faster than they can ever be consumed (and this factors in population growth). Make every 'necessity' (oil, food, water, raw materials) so abundant, that their value is negated. Wouldn't automatically be perfection, but folks would have to try a lot harder to come up with excuses to shoot at one another.

I would like there to be travel to other planets for everyone, but there would have to be some kind of way to limit the number of people. It shouldn't be too easy either, or it wouldn't be fun. Going to space should be cheap and easy.

scorched earth

no humans

Well, I mean, you're being an arse.

My personal idea of a utopia would be:

1. NONSENTIENT ROBOTS AS WORKERS.

2. Non-flawed working communism, mixed with democracy for leaders.

3. Basically what vger said.

I feel utopia would be a world where everyone is free to live by his own values, but does not impose them on others. Most problems we see stem from a failure to do this. Additionally I would hope that people embrace science for what it is and can bring. Society where decisions are made on best knowledge and judgement rather than emotional arguments should bring a lot more progress and a higher quality of living for everyone. We should not micromanage, we should decide where we want to go as a society and have science figure out the best way of getting there. This means cleaning up science too, as there are still a lot of personal interests at play.

I understand the second point is slightly at adds with the first, but forcing the second would not work anyway. Ensuring freedom is paramount, the second point should be a slow and steady cultural change.

getting payed to play ksp

...where playing KSP actually constructs and launches a real rocket, inhabited by cute little genetically-engineered Kerbals.

I hope humanity is forced to leave earth in the next 10 years due to a massive extinction event, then finds out kerbin is the closest planet. Then, upon arrival, we land at KSC and become best friends with the kerbals.

One can dream, right?

And then we can fight the Kraken! And we can build rockets that will never explode and everyone lives happily ever after! One can dream.

And then we can harness the power of the Kraken to go 100,000 times faster than spacetime! May the best dreamer win.

As long as we have a space program that continually makes as much progress as NASA in its golden years. I mean, the society could be like today with warring nations, but as long as it's not too poor of living standards and the governments aren't very oppressive, it's a utopia.

I.e NASA gets its funding quadrupled.

NASA should be given the funding of the military, their money is .48% of the entire federal budget.

It seems like the most important part of the USA is the military. Most of those funds should be split between NASA and some private space companies. Ex: Space x, Stratolaunch, Reaction engines ltd.
