What's your launch theme?

Just as advertised, what is your launch theme when you hit spacebar on the pad?

I have two:

For a main engine start followed by launch clamp release and booster ignition, it times nicely with the above for 6 seconds and then 12 seconds.

Always good for those Kerpollo rockets. Especially once you get to the climax of the song.

What music launches YOUR rockets?

That strongly depends on mood and mission... Here a small selction of nice launch themes

Noise Unit - Monolith

Rossini - Wilhelm Tell Overture (for the more ridiculous ship designs...)

Also very famous: Captain Future Theme (for ye goode ole dayze)

And of course... Battlestar Galactica Theme (1978 classic series)

Enjoy :)

^ Definitely! Seconded. (and now I'm wondering about that launch missile - is it liquid or solid fuel? what's the mass of the Phoenix? was that a sub-orbital launch? ...do they have DRE installed?)

I also like Major Tom (Shilling's, Shiny Toy Gun's, or even Shatner's, hehe) for launch purposes.

The Phoenix is liquid fuel (based on the ignition mechanism shown in the video) and has a 4 meter cockpit (based on lines from teh movie). You could probably extrapolate the rest based on visuals.

Surprised nobody has mentioned this yet.

There is no force no money and no power

To stop us now and change our fate

Before we rise

Now every problem is destroyed

We raise our hands and bodies to the peak

Into the Universe - towards the stars we go

Sending machines up to the sky

John Cage's 4'33".

Gotta love those classics. I have an .mp3 file of that one.

I sent one to a friend. He spent a couple minutes messing with the volume.

What's really amusing was that it was the second time I sent it to him.
