Sal_vager is leaving to travel the world.
TimePeriod replied to Vanamonde's topic in KSP1 Discussion
@sal_vager The world demands your attention, so you must go. We shall await your return. -
Does anybody else think Jeb and Val should hook up?
TimePeriod replied to imkrazy's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I wouldn't mind some mild romance, just some subtle stuff. Its always difficult to be romantically involved with a co-worker, I know from personal experience. Edit: What I meant was maybe a picture of the two standing in the local diner with Jeb's face covered in cake and Val just laughing her butt off at the spectacle. -
Concerning complaints about the cost of DLC

What seemingly basic thing have you never done in KSP
TimePeriod replied to Whisky Tango Foxtrot's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Took me 2 weeks to figure out (work, go figure). -
250m/s before 10km altitude (Kerbin only). 700m/s before 40/50 km altitude. 1100m/s before 71km altitude.

Theoretical optimum of cost efficiency to orbit (1.2)
TimePeriod replied to Reusables's topic in KSP1 Discussion
In that case, we get a lot higher number; 19345 / 4.5 = 4298/t (I think) -

I do not really understand what you are trying to get at? I already said it was a disposable rocket, nor an SSTO. I took the total cost of the entire craft+cargo and divided it by the total tonnage, is that not you are supposed to do when figuring out how much it would cost pr ton? -
Theoretical optimum of cost efficiency to orbit (1.2)
TimePeriod replied to Reusables's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Its a disposable rocket, all you have to do is be very skeptic about what parts you really "need". Edit: If I spent some more time tweaking the dV budget, looking for better part mixes and general optimization I could squeeze out 5-10% cost-reduction. -
Theoretical optimum of cost efficiency to orbit (1.2)

In all conventional rocket design I managed a ~275/t for a 4½ ton payload. 20770 spacebucks / 75 tons. = 276,93/t -
Working on some new lifters, maybe found some new kind of kraken-drive. *cough*.

You know your rockets are REALLY big when...
TimePeriod replied to MedwedianPresident's topic in Forum Games!
When the game crashes before you even get to the launch-pad. -

Never landed on Eve, in fact I have never landed on any body outside Kerbin SoI. -
FINALLY! T_T After having spent a good 2 weeks of designing SSTO's I managed to make one that ACTUALLY WORKED! Dear god that was the most horrible, aggravating and painful experience I've ever had. I had to turn on Chesney Hawkes (The One and Only), rum & cola and even enlist the aid of Valentina Kerman to get this stupid thing into orbit. To hell with dignity and pride, I ran around in my living room yelling at the top of my lounges!

To the soundtrack of Battlefield 4, (main theme) I lifted off from the runway armed with 4 guided rockets and 2 fuel pods destined for the south pole. There'll be a reckoning once Jeb gets there. #Armedtotheteeth

From the right-hand side of the screen, you can see the evolution of my aircraft design and its 3 versions. Starting from the far right you can see the base model, nothing really interesting about it. In the middle we have the up-tuned part which is more pleasing to the aesthetic eye while increasing flight performance. In the left corner we have the final version, "Ztar Zêhrstuher" with emphases on speed.

At 10762 meters of altitude above sea-level my new mini-aircraft entered a stall and refused to climb any higher, at 52 m/s relative to Kerbin. From 10762 meters I entered a -75 degree dive, bottoming out at 399(400~) m/s I pulled up without breaking any parts. Below 100 meters above sea-level I stabilized my accent/decent and reached a maximum speed of 297 m/s relative to Kerbin.

Yeah, I have no idea.

We always have the same discussions about stock vs MJ and they always end up with the same result: Thread lock.
-
Isn't the definition of insanity, doing the same action over and over again and expect different results?
-
I run stock atm mainly because I have advanced so far into the meta that mods not longer hold any reason or logic.
-
I made an aircraft which spontaneously explodes upon contact with any kind of water, sometimes sending debris flying beyond the sphere of influence.

It bottles down to 1 thing: Fun. If you find it fun to play realistic, that's your choice. If you find it fun to play less realistic, that's your choice. If you want to play more realistic than the stock experience, find the mods for it.
