Cool. :)

I already got some practice in with carrier landings using a VTOL trainer (AKA a failed combat SSTO w/ VTOL).

:)

I've got a Takeshima Class... And it's only 540 parts. :P (Which was interesting)

It has a much larger flightdeck than the Izumo Class.

Ramming looks interesting, i Will concentrate my navy on ramming. Also, is it possible to destroy à 80 m/s impact tolerance part with an impact at less than 80 m/s?

@Scriptkitt CAN you please post the persistent file?

Andrew, have you ever tried to land à Space shuttle on this runway (or boat, i dont know)?

You can use rocket exhaust to overheat parts until they explode, but I'm not sure if that works in the water.

Also I've made my own drek-killer.

A cluster of four of my spike missiles seem to put zeke's mighty battleships out of their misery.

The only problem of course is the part count, but it isn't that hard to make a missile tube.

I hope all these kerbals are not seasick

No. You just better hope I don't make them into Kamikaze carriers. :)

The carrier should be upgraded to become a more capable platform. It really does resemble a WWII Japanese Aircraft Carrier.

I wonder how long it will be before someone tries to build one of the Japanese submarine aircraft carriers.

The I-400?

Now that you mentioned it, there's been a steel shortage... :P

I'm actually planning on building it soon. I just don't know if I want to install any mods.

If you can do it thwn I'll be very impressed.

I can... but the question is, do you really want to try running it on your computer? :P

I like practical craft, and that I-400 would be, for various reasons, mostly a naval parade vessel.

is it even possible to make a stock sub? if so i would like so insight

It is, but it takes ridiculous amounts of weight to make even light craft sink.

The other alternative are engines to sink it underwater, but that's not exactly sustainable.

Battle of Pol

An MU-owned C-23D colony ship has crash-landed on Pol, following an attack by space pirates near Vall.

lvDdHQe.png

An MU Quick Response Force fleet was sent out to secure the area, and to protect the colonists until a properly equipped rescue ship could arrive.

/Rules:/

Standard GNBC ruleset (see OP of this thread), plus:

1-Maximum tonnage (per ship): 200 for capital ships, 50 for fighters (heavy fighters/bombers).

2-Each team may have 4 ships, comprised of 2 fighters and 2 capital ships.

3-Max partcount per ship (fighters: 300 w/ weapons),(capitals: 600 with weapons).

4-No de-orbiting of enemy craft, or ramming, as stated in the main rules.

5-Fighters may land on Pol, but not near the wrecked C-23D.

Rapid conversion... :P

Where's the Infinity when you need her? :)

I've considered making a scale model of Infinity and then scaling it up using TweakScale, but your old attempt at the Infinity would be cool if it got finished. :P

Also, I do love Contact Harvest. Good book.

I like the old books, but Karen Traviss isn't up to par with the old authors. :(

Also, the old infinity blue-screened my desktop multiple times... then caused a PSU blowout which fried/scratched my HDD. :P

That's why I got a reliable PSU and SSD, but I'll think about another infinity. :)

With a little modification, you'd have a nice submarine. :P

IKR? The superstructure needs work, and secondary guns need to be added, but other than that she's a fine fighting machine. Still awaiting top speed...

EDIT: 1 m/s acheived so far :P

EDIT EDIT: yup. Total failure. 1.1 m/s is the top speed.

I have returned, and I present to you my first capital ship. Although unarmed as of yet [i have yet to develop adequate missiles], it promises to be quite formidable...Without further ado, I give you the

Diffraction Class Battlecruiser

mjxIY6r.png

At over eight hundred parts and eighty tons, this is by far the largest vessel I have ever constructed; at least for now, it shall be the flagship of my developing fleet. All I must do now is design adequate smallcraft, and I shall be ready for battle.

[And yes, it is four-way symmetrical.]

Welcome to the updated SPH parts. :P

The best I achieved with my carrier is 10 m/s. :P
