I'm desperate. My computer crashed a month ago so I've had no access to .24. and now I go into the store, log in, go to the download for ksp, click it, and get a "403" error saying that I have to be logged in to the website to view the page? How does that even work? You have to be logged in to get to the download button? please help me. Please!!!!! ;.; ;.; ;.; ;.; ;.; ;.; ;.; ;.; ;.;

EDIT: Issue has been resolved! Thanks for all the help, guys! :):D

Are you logging in with your forum account name? If so that might be the issue, you need to use the email address you used for your store account, try a few password reset requests on your email address'

I basically got a new computer when the hard drive got replaced. There is no way there could be any cache or cookie issues. And the browser isn't blocking it, the website is blocking the browser from viewing the page.

EDIT: Requesting a password email and resetting my password did not help.

EDIT 2: Also, trying again later didn't help, as I experienced this problem before my hard drive failure also.

EDIT 3: Tried with a freshly downloaded google chrome and got the "invalid token" error.

EDIT 4: I even tried that solution of replacing ".co.uk" with ".com" and still got the invalid token. I am frustrated beyond words right now.

You'll just have to email [email protected] and give them as much of your store info as possible. Like your store ID (if it's different from your forum ID), your store email (if it's different from your forum email) and possibly your password.

I'm 100% sure the folks at KSP have that info on file and would be willing to hook you up with a new set of login details provided your info matches what they have.

Other than that, there's really nothing anyone on the forums here can help you with.

Well, I already emailed support with the email i use for the store, and gave them my IP adress. I'll see what they respond with, and then maybe talk about the new credentials thing. That's a good idea. Here's to hoping its not an issue with my IP.

I doubt it's an issue with your IP address. Quick question: are you logging in through the forum and then going to the store? Because the forum log-in is separate from the store log-in, so that could be the issue as well.

Even if your forum username (email address) and password is the same as your store username (email address) and password, you should be logging in on this page: https://kerbalspaceprogram.com/kspstore/index.php

I really don't know what the problem is, but in any case, the support staff will be able to help you better than I'll ever be able to.

Good luck.

What do you mean? Like, Are you saying that I should log into the store first?

EDIT: When i do go to the store, yes i log in to the forums, but i still have to log in to the store after that

Yeah, I just didn't know if you were trying to access the store log in through the forums or not.

Well i opened chrome and went straight to the store and it still didn't work. no offense to the KSP support team, but when i sent a long descriptive email going through the problem, 2 days later, the response i got was "did you try a new browser?" and that kinda frustrated me a little bit. Still waiting on another reply, i also PMed alexmora and am waiting for his reply as well. I wonder if i can do that permanent switch to steam still. What benefits and losses would i experience if i did switch?

EDIT: The support team replied saying it was my IP....they said they can switch me to steam or give me a refund. Problem is, i bought ksp when it was 23 dollars and now it is 27..... Ideas?

It was the weekend, but yes, waiting for an answer can be frustrating.

I say go with the Steam transfer option. It's the same as the KSP Store version, just downloaded with the Steam client. It's also DRM-free, so you can have multiple copies for trying out mods, or even put one exactly where you had KSP before. Probably easier than trying to switch ISPs or downloading outside of your house.

Yeah, that's what i was thinking. also, the hours counter is a plus. And there's no way im giving up on KSP. Just to be clear, i can extract the KSP data folder and put it on the desktop right? And if so can i run KSP through that? without launching steam?

Everything I've read on these forums says you can put it pretty much anywhere so long as Windows permissions doesn't lock you out (Program Files and the Windows directory are the best examples). Desktop should be fine. If not, I believe you can make a folder shortcut and put that on the desktop. I don't think the hours counter works unless you run KSP through Steam. That said, I don't use Steam and I'm on a Mac.

No. Only the copy of KSP located in Steam's Program Files directory will work, unfortunately. There is a bit of a hacky way to get it to run something outside its own directory, but it won't update properly, and you still can't really run them both through Steam. You could try adding KSP to the Library as a non-Steam game for one of the installs, I suppose.

Well what i meant is, I plan on copying the install for mod purposes. What you're saying is, Only one specific copy of KSP will run through steam, and therefor use the hours counter? (that's what i was wondering, cause i spread my hours out over multiple installs of KSP)
