so, cinema sins released a Every Thing Wrong with video for Armageddon:

and some people here at the forum saw it, and were disappointed with it because it was :

Not enough. This needs to be ripped apart piece by piece on a scientific level.

so, on behalf of those user's, let's make Michael Bay cry. without high explosives, of course.

Launch scene, "Start roll maneuver. Good roll program" Shuttle does a barrel roll for no reason other than to look cool. That scene made me .... my pants laughing at how stupid Hollywood is.

I was waiting for CinemaSins to do Armageddon. Honestly, I did expect a much longer video picking everything apart, but oh well, it was still fun to watch. I wonder if he'll do a 'What's the damage?' for it...

But anyway, scientific inaccuracies... I'll name just a few, I think. And I'll borrow a defining feature from any CinemaSins video, too.

1. Atlantis exploded in a fireball. In space. DING

2. When NASA's explaining to Harry and co. what the comet did to the asteroid belt. One, the asteroid belt is not that dense. Two, there's no way the comet just shot through that quickly and caused all that rock to be flung towards Earth (though it may have been a timelapse rendering, but still). DING

3. The X-71 engines are always on. In space. DING

4. X-71's. Whilst undeniably a cool looking ship, I don't think such a vehicle is entirely suited to flying to an asteroid. DING

5. Mir's artificial gravity would have flung them to either end of the station instead of letting them walk around, and the world would have ended because no-one on the station could have reached the consoles to stop the station rotating and let them move around, back to the shuttles, and carry on the mission. DING

6. Mir exploded in a fireball. In space. DING

7. It only took them a few minutes to reach the Moon for their slingshot manoeuvre, and they still had their engines on all the time! DING

8. Real-life Asteroids. DING

9. Spiky asteroid. DING

...I think that'll do for now...

:P
