How do I add landing gears?

Hi everyone,

I'm new to KSP and this forum. Sorry for the stupid question, how do I add landing gears? Also, if I add a parachute or decoupler, whenever I hit space, the parachute and decoupler both go off. Sorry.

Landing gears stick on like any other part. What sort of trouble are you having?

To get things to activate separately, you will need to put them in separate stages. There should be a display on the side of the screen with orange tabs and +/- buttons to add stages, then click and drag device icons into them to set stages.

Adding to the above: Be aware that on the staging tree, stages activate from bottom to top. You can also see where a part is on the staging tree by mousing over it, which will highlight the appropriate staging icon (and vice-versa).
