Is there a list of non-generated Kerbal names?

Like the thread titles says, is there a list of non-generated Kerbal names?

Sometimes I get Kerbals with a name that doesn't seem generated, and I know that there are names added to the game as a wink to famous people(Like astronauts and Youtubers).

I don't know that anyone has compiled a list. Not that I've seen anyway. But you're right, there are some that are predetermined, whereas the "generated" names are built by concatenating two syllables/halves (some of them are more than one syllable of course).

That wasn't exactly his question. The names are chosen randomly, but there is a list of hardcoded names that can be chosen from, in addition to the randomly assembled names.

But there's more too, like Kurt Kerman, (maybe) Scott Kerman, etc. That's what the OP is talking about. I don't know of such a list.

Ah. Well, there is probably a list of single-serving "syllables" for name generation but the code/text for that is obfuscated.

If you watch the Selection process video on KSP's youtube channel their are names at the bottom, most of them are hard coded into the game. Ones i can remember off the top of my head are: Kurt, Scott, Danny, Neil and Buzz

I'm still looking for Kurt Kerman, always wanted him so bad... I feel like he's somehow rarer than the other proper names, I've literally seen pretty much every other one come up.

Also, if you want, you can manually edit the name of your kerbals in the persistance file.

Warning: do not touch the last name(karman). I once tried to do so and had many problems(although I can't be sure that the last name change caused the problem).

it's useful when you want to create "hommage mission"(or recreate a historical mission).

You could also use Crew Manifest or Kustom Kerbals [removed link to defunct website]

I got Allison Kerman and Bilbo Kerman recently. I'm pretty sure they were just lucky results of the random generator, but I still felt like mentioning it.

Careful with this. I had all sorts of problems the last time I tried editing names. I was just editing the first name, and leaving "Kerman" alone, and the saves wouldn't load, or the roster would come up empty.

However, manually copying existing roster entries to ADD new ones with custom names, worked fine. I have no idea what the difference is.
