Steam version used by default

Hey all, bought the game finally on steam and thoroughly am enjoying it. However, I have a question: after noting in the bug thread that x64 has a bunch of problems, which version does the steam download use by default on an x64 download? I noticed both a standard and a x64 exe file and if possible, would prefer it to use the standard exe, as many of the Steam games in my library seem to do..

Steam uses x32 for KSP- unless you changed the "beta opt-in" for x64.

Both versions are downloaded but only the 32 bit version is enabled by Steam. To enable the 64 bit version, just create a shortcut for the KSP_x64.exe and move it to your desktop. Either version will use the same data and save folders

KSP does not require Steam to run. It is highly recommend that you copy the entire game to another location and use it for modding and other experiments and keep the Steam copy stock for future automatic updates. Just create shortcuts to the KSP.exe from the new location for the program to run from there.
