What's the greatest distance anyone's got from Kerbol?

My record is 9 billion km, it wasn't difficult but frankly it was a bit boring, a slingshot from Jool and then timewarp....

So whats the furthest anyone's ever got?

Do massless ships count? You can build a craft that escapes Kerbol as soon as it is launched, then it's just a question of how long you are willing to leave the game open in time warp.

I've done something like this at the beginning of my ca. 100 years old save, but I lost it already. Jeb retired of old age and I started a new save

I've gotten so far that the counter resets down to meters! That's so far away that if I exit timewarp KSP turns into a slideshow and crashes! So, if you want to see how far you can go, NEVER leave your ship to the space center, NEVER EVA, and NEVER stop timewarping, or your game will eventually crash.

EDIT: Heh, I wouldn't doubt it if your game still crashes without leaving timewarp. I may just see how far I can get without crashing sometime.

Using HyperEdit I managed to get so far that the altimeter ran out of units to use and looped back around to meters.

I've left it running at 100000x for like 30 minutes at 0.05 LY/second. That translates to something like 9 million LY.
