Rover wheels clipping and stuck

Recommended Posts

Hi, strange problem.

I made a rover and when I launch it (from either runway or launchpad, I tried both) the wheels sink into the ground (kind of clip into it) and rover is immobilized. Wheels turn but doesn't go anywhere.

I tried removing wheels, tried different wheels, nothing works.

I loaded my first rover (very lame one) and it still works.

Any ideas?

I can post a screenshot if it's helpful.

Thanks in advance.

A screenshot would be very helpful but if your wheels are not straight up and down it's not going to work. If you are using Angle Snap you might have to rotate the wheels with WASDQE to get them to align properly

Thanks. Yes it has power.

Here's the rover in the hangar:

Weight is 1850 kg

Here's how it looks at launch: (for 1 second it's fine, then the wheels immediately sink into the tarmac)

Those wheels are "on their side"

Yes, wheels are defines to have a down side, and only ride on surfaces on that one orientation. At opther angles, you only have collision avoidance trying to keep them off the tarmac, and you see how poorly that works.

Solution: your wheels need to be rotated another 90 degrees.
