I've never had Firespitter work in any version of KSP

Hiya folks, I have had persistent problems with Firespitter on every version of KSP. I also can't run any mod that requires Firespitter. It simply causes KSP to crash when it's loading up. It's not a conflict with other mods because it won't even work with a clean vanilla install. This has been going on since the first time I tried running Firespitter, maybe as far back as 0.22. Any ideas?

btw, I'm running KSP 64bit on linux.

That's no good. Could you provide a Player.log? (~/.config/unity3d/Squad/Kerbal\ Space\ Program/Player.log)

Since you said it hasn't been working for a while, could you install just the Firespitter mod in a clean KSP 0.24.2 install? A log from trying to load that would help the most. I ask because the full mod hasn't been updated for 0.25 yet, just the plugin.

The full mod or just plugin for some other mod? I remember an issue with a mod, I think it was KAX, where if you just installed the plugin and not one of the config files it would cause problems loading. The problem occurs if you attempt to install your own Firespitter rather than using the one it was bundled with and fail to get the config.

Why does it say support windows and, I have never had a problem running Firespitter and still don't and, I'm running 64bit Linux.

It appears that the moderators are making some changes to the thread categories and your thread has been misclassified. Try editing your first post, click "Go Advanced" and then change the category drop-down to suit...

Ok, I'm running 0.25. Maybe I'll wait until they update Firespitter.

Well, I upgraded to 0.90.0 and Firespitter-based mods seem to work now.
