Loaded up the new version, with no problems, now i am just waiting for the catalog to get updated as mods get updated to 1.0 versions, sigh game breaking updates, guess i have to go do somehting in the real world now.....how boring, you can't mod the real world.....not really.

One question though. How easy would it be for mods to have an entry for Dev versions? I'm thinking specifically of Mechjeb which has many versions between releases put up on GitHub but only the main one shows in CKAN.

There is a dev version for 1.0 up already although it's not perfect according to reports. It would still be nice to install it with CKAN and be notified of updates to the Dev version instead of always having it reported as updated as the .Dll has been spotted but not installed by CKAN and having to spot updates the 'old fashioned way'.

There is a dev version for 1.0 up already although it's not perfect according to reports. It would still be nice to install it with CKAN and be notified of updates to the Dev version instead of always having it reported as updated as the .Dll has been spotted but not installed by CKAN and having to spot updates the 'old fashioned way'.

Dev versions of MJ are available, just add the MJ-DEV repo through the Settings menu.

Many of those 85 aren't actually compatible though, and it's missing some of the few that are compatible (most of RoverDude's stuff, for instance).

Many of the partmods have chosen to be compatible with ksp_version_min fields and as such shows up. RoverDudes mods where just indexed but not all dependencies are met yet, esspecially ModuleManager (which will be out soon) is missing atm. Sarbian is being a champ though and MM will soon be available.

Just a small sanity check, does every mod available through CKAN reside in it's own GameData/xxx folder (minus the DLLs, which are in GameData itself), and never in the vanilla folders or elsewhere ?

If so, this means I can update KSP through it's launcher safely and have a clean install (minus the mods in GameData) and then sort through those and update them. Correct ?

FWIW Last I checked treeloader has been broken since 0.24, and has been superseded by Techmanager, which itself is now likely obsolete with the new tech tree system in 1.0. May be time to remove it from the CKAN repo.

Some mods also put things into the Ships folder and there are other folders which mods are allowed to install to through CKAN but I can't say I've ever seen an example of a mod adding stuff to another place than GameData or Ships. I'm acctually not sure how CKAN would handle the update since you'll most probably be stuck with a bunch of outdated mods. My, limited, experience with CKAN handling mods not available for your version of the game is that it marks them as AD and then you can't update/interact with them any more. You could always do a backup and then try, that's the best way of finding out in this case :)

Ah, gotcha, the dependencies thing makes sense. I was thrown by Karbonite+ showing up even though its dependencies weren't there.

I've hopefully merged everything needed to resolve the USI mods not showing up in CKAN now. CRP was stuck at 0.90 due to an indexing problem but it should be reindexed within the hour when the bot finds it.

Remove the partmanager plugin to get your CKAN working again. It's not compatible with newer versions.

Did a clean install of KSP but now i get this error when trying to start from scratch and remove all mods that were stored in CKANs DB? Only does its for some of the mods.. i know i doing something wrong just dont know what.

I realy love this program, but it has one crucial thing mission IMO.

There should be a column with "date updated" on, so we can easily see when the mod was updated.

This would make it easy to spot if it has been updated after a new release, and maybee also sort on what are updated newest to spot the mods that are beeing worked on most recently.

Did a clean install of KSP but now i get this error when trying to start from scratch and remove all mods that were stored in CKANs DB? Only does its for some of the mods.. i know i doing something wrong just dont know what.

So you did a clean install of KSP (empty GameData except Squad and NASAMission?) then CKAN will indeed run into troubles since the list is now incorrect. However it seems more like a GUI issue. Can you try doing some operations with commandline so we know if it's a core problem or a client problem?

You need to update to 1.6.11 manually because older versions have a critical issue with the auto-updater. Download at https://github.com/KSP-CKAN/CKAN/releases

Yeah, my ckan won't run either, says there is an error every time it boots

Unable to troubleshoot without more information. What error? If it's a 401 update to 1.6.11, see link above.

If it's something else post error-log, your version of CKAN, your OS and if applicable (aka if you're on Linux or OS X) your output of `mono --version`

I realy love this program, but it has one crucial thing mission IMO.

There should be a column with "date updated" on, so we can easily see when the mod was updated.

This would make it easy to spot if it has been updated after a new release, and maybee also sort on what are updated newest to spot the mods that are beeing worked on most recently.

Awesome idea :) Please open an issue on github so we can track it and doesn't get lost in this thread.

So you did a clean install of KSP (empty GameData except Squad and NASAMission?) then CKAN will indeed run into troubles since the list is now incorrect. However it seems more like a GUI issue. Can you try doing some operations with commandline so we know if it's a core problem or a client problem?

Yes, tried empty all together as well as w/squad folders. Sorry forgot to mention that i had already tried CL(w/Admin rights) remove, install, and scan features, the CL completed the actions w/o error. As well as manually installing the mods back w/refreshes and closing app each time. Thanks for the reply

Our metadata is generated in different ways for different sources and the methods have evolved over time. This means that some of the older indexed versions have much less restrictive versionfields defined than the newer ones making them show up now.

The CKAN developers are all volounteers and we're doing our very best to keep up with the onslaught of mods currently requireing varying degrees of pokes and prods to be correctly indexed. The work being done now will hopefully make the next major transition easier.

Why can i download mods only with 200kps? is there a limit or somthing? I can download with direct link to the mod with 20Mb/s normally

Need more information, is it all mods or a specific mod? Some of the mirrors we're indexing from are slower than others.

how can i provide you the right informations? logs?

i mean i cant really tell you still downloading the first mod^^ current link kerbal.curseforge.com so i think curse is the server? the curent rate is between 150-250 kbps

EDIT: when i put the link in browser it downloads the file with full bandwidth

PPS: Windows 8 64bit

I don't see one either but don't remember one. Just came by to ask for it as a feature request.
