How about this for GP2?

(It's a recolored Venus cloud map)

Personally, I would prefer a darker blue. Just slightly lighter than the real Venus. Wait, i'll search for a drawing Felsmak made for my idea of GP2 some time ago.

EDIT: here I found it (all © goes to Felsmak)

Right now, i'm eagerly waiting for RSS to update since I decided I will make my 0.90 Career in 3.2 scale.

Stock is just too easy by now for me and the Low Orbits in this just look so much better, while still having good looking terrain and not a stretched boring plain.

And money will really start to matter more, since you'll need a bigger craft for everything compared to stock, and i want new challenges.

Another question: do you recommend a certain EVE-Pack that looks good and isn't too resource heavy? During 0.25 testing i found that Astronomers pack lets the mun flicker at the higher points from far away.

RSS dll was updated. I replaced the one that comes with this, but it stops loading at "Kerbin Scaled Space Color Map". Do you need to adjust anything apart from the dll to get this to work in .90 ?

EDIT: I commented out the lines for loading the color and normal map in the cfg. Now it works. Finally I can start my career in 0.90 . Yeahaa!

I personally think that GP 2 should have orange, salmon and very light blue bands.

EDIT: I noticed a bug. Jool's mass is way too small; actually, it's two orders of magnitude smaller than, for example, Laythe. End result: the Joolian moons move way too slowly around Jool - Laythe is moving at about 50 m/s. I'm not sure what the mass should be, though.

EDIT2: Turns out that Jool's mass is exactly four orders of magnitude too small.

Now that RSS caches meshes again, you will want to grab the latest plugin, do a load (it'll take 20+ minutes) and then zip up PluginData too so other users don't have to wait forever on first load.

Okay, I'll do that. Updating to 0.90 now. :)

Finally I can do my science fair project in Realism Overhaul now.

I must've misplaced a zero. Or four of them. Will fix.

FYI I have a pack of public domain Gas Giant textures, one of which might interest you.

If it's not blue enough for you, you can use photoshop to apply a blue photo filter or gradient map of some sort.

This is perfect. It finally matches what they showed GP2 to be year before last on KSP's old KSPofficial twitch channel. (Or what you can find on the wiki)

I have a hunch that due to the new building upgrades, you're going to want to increase payouts so you can upgrade your buildings pretty early. The limit on parts to 30 will almost certainly require that you will not be able to get beyond LKO unless you really get all the science you can and get the larger rocket parts. If someone ever makes a plugin that allows you to edit the amount of money a building upgrade costs, I'll probably include a config for that in Jumbo32.

For the misplaced Jool: Why did you even calculated the mass? To fix it in my install I just put GeeASL = 0.8 in there and commented out the mass. RSS calcs that on its own.

It's already possible: The Funds penalties directly affect the bulding cost. So 200% Funds penalties mean double building cost.

I just started my new career and yes, with that 18t limit you're just barely making orbit, but it feels great overall. I'm exited for the repack you're doing if it really speeds up the launch time of KSP.

Because I started with the 6.4x config, Jool's density was based upon Jupiter's (Presumably with a mass rescale).

I used Mass instead of GeeASL, because I thought it would fix a bug. It didn't, but I managed to fix the bug anyway. I didn't calculate it myself, I copied it from the in-game calculations, because it calculates from GeeASL the Mass and Gravitational Parameter, all visible on the in-game tracking station info box.

Clearly something went wrong with Jool, but don't worry. As soon as I'm able, I will release version 1.2 and it will all be fine. :) Probably. :P

I'll probably change it just a bit if I use it. :) I think it needs a bit more brown on the northern cloud bands.

Okay, so problem. After several hours (Going out to a restaurant and coming back), it's STILL stuck on Kerbin scaled space color map. What do I do?

EDIT: I commented out the replacement textures for Kerbin, and it loaded past Kerbin :)

Unfortunately, now the scaled-space textures no longer match the terrain, but the terrain used by the fix for 6.4x is better than the original, so it shouldn't look that bad! I might try and fix this again later.

Updated to 0.90.

And now I have to fix Eeloo because for some reason it's orbit is default. Luckily, 1.3 has another big change: Reverted Gilly to stock scale, and made Pol and Bop 1.6 times default size instead of 3.2x. 1.3 will be released shortly.

I think you should set Dres to be slightly slower than orbital velocity, that way there it has rotational anti-gravity making it's effective gravity of about that of Gilly even though the actual gravity is actually slightly greater than that of the Mun.

More compatible with EnvironmentalVisualEnhancement mods than 6.4x is.

How compatible is it? i doubt i can just install everything as for stock KSP, what are the issues with e.g. Astronomers Interstellar Pack?

Edit: I installed it and i love the size, its perfect. I have some issues:

The texture of the land around the KSC is realy bad from 1-10km height compared to the land in direction to the mountains. It looks like the texture thats used for the mapview, just from close up.

Wasnt RSS the mod that deleted the white horizon on Kerbin (afaik thats why the plugin is in Proots Renaissance Compilation). In this pack i still have the white horizon...

The terrainclipping in the runway behaves realy strange, after i launched my first rocket and returned to the space center it was nearly completly gone.

Edit2: What Mechjeb setting do you use for ascents?

I have not tried Astronomer's pack (honestly I think Interstellar is ugly as sin), and I do not use MechJeb for KSP at all, but I would recommend a turn start at around 2 kilometers and turn end at 60 kilometers, not sure about the curve.

I am actually going to implement Proot's horizon color thing into Jumbo32 next chance I get. And as for your texture bugs from 1-10 kilometers, I'm baffled. I don't know what's wrong. Pictures might help.

The only issues you will find for ANY EnvironmentalVisualEnhancement pack is that some things may clip, especially glowing surfaces for exoatmospheric planets. But it's way less bad than it is on 6.4x configs.

Im flying from the KSC towards the mountains. In the lower right corner is higher quality terrain that contionues to the mountains, most of the surrounding terrain around the KSC has the other low resolutoin you can see on the other parts of the screenshots...

Oh! I know what you mean. That's... That's a stock thing actually. I believe it happens with 6.4x and RSS as well, it's part of the minor changes to the terrain from 0.25. It's just a low-definition texture that occurs around the coastal areas. No fix, unless I'm mistaken.

Don't know if on purpose, but Eve is tidally locked in your config. I'd suggest to change that.

Just discovered it while I landed a probe on the Night side and sunrise to load the batteries never happened...

Will fix. It's an odd coincidence I guess, they're just the 64K time scales. Also, I now have Jumbo5x, a 5x config for RSS. It does have properly scaled (sqrt5 scale) rotational periods as well, including a proper super-spinny-dres. It also has AtmosphereFromGround from Proot's KSPRC, this will be included in Jumbo32 as well.
