Kid Mode/Unkillable Kerbals mod?

I had an idea for a mod/game feature, and I'm curious whether it's been done before.

The mod would do two things:

1. When a Kerbal-containing part suffers a catastrophic impact, the Kerbal is ejected instead of killed.

2. When a Kerbal would suffer a catastrophic impact, he bounces instead.

The idea is pretty simple: to allow the usual process of incremental design while reducing failure to a Looney Tunes level. You'll still blow up your rocket, but the Kerbal will stand up, brush himself off and be ready for another go.

I don't think it has been done before, because there wasn't a need. Aside from their naturally tough suit (the helmet can sometimes let the kerbal survive reentry and land safely on it), in easy mode kerbal just disappear for a while before respawning, so people didn't need to make them invulnerable when they can return anyway. But it would be a fun mod to have if you intend to make it.

Good idea, that. Probably not too hard to do, either.

Yeah, they respawn on easy mode, but I don't think that'd cut it for a traumatised six year old [1].

[1] Yes, I know, many of them would probably happily mass-slaughter Kerbals like some of us do. But not all of 'em are going to take it that lightly.
