You guys are epic

I've spent some time away from the forums. I usually check up on them every couple of days, but recently I have not been so vigilant and have been spending my time in other game communities.

Ive just checked in again and have realised that this is actually one of the best game communities out there. Seriously.

You should all be given a cookie, a hug and moar boosterz.

Thanks for being epic everyone!

Thx OP, for the kind words and all. Yes, I must agree, this community is great and I've never been in a more forgiving or kind one. May this community live long and prosper.

Yep. I love it when someone comes by and rants about how bad the KSP community is... just let them spend a few days on the ROBLOX forums. Mwuahahaha.

Seriously though, this game is great and so are the fans. SQUAD is quirky but we all love them, right? :)

EDIT: Why on Earth did you press Y to abort the self-destruct? This is SCIENCE! NNNNNNNN

I really love this community - we really rarely have the kind of hateful quarrels normal forums have - even the relatively minimal SQUAD criticism has died down (although .90.0 might bring that back), but it's definitely the nicest place on the internet. Not because anyone told us to - we're just all good people :D I love that.

Long Live KSP! Long live the KSP forums!

I think that people who are interested in space travel are less mean than those who play first person shooters or the like (nothing personal, just generalizing)

I really love how you recognize people around the forums, instead if places like the Minecraft Forums where you have the famous people and then just everyone else that you only see once

Moar boosterz? Eh, if they're free, I guess I'll have them.

Dragons don't like hugs... or cookies. I'll pass there.

We are a great community. Is it a generation thing, or just the deviation in genre?

I remember the bad old days when I used to hang out on the WoW forums, now that was a toxic community. Maybe its improved over the last few years but I doubt its as nice as this place is. The odd troll pops up here from time to time but they are normaly quashed in short order.

The only appropriate response to this thread that I can think of goes something along the lines of, "Aww, shucks".

To be fair though there are much nicer and more active people than me on this forum. So I'd also like to say thanks to them.

I've been gaming since the 90's and on forums since they were called bulletin boards and this is one of the nicest if not the nicest and most polite I've experienced. Not to mention patient and helpful. I'm not sure how to explain it.

I remember recognizing quite a few names from the Dwarf Fortress forums here also -- which had a similarly good forum culture (I haven't been there in forever though).

You might see my name there on occasion. although frankly the DF forums are a scarey place. The people are nice to eachother but some of the experiments they do in the name of !Science! are... disturbing. Actually come to think of it aside from the dwarven child care thread most of it isnt all that much horrific than what we regularly subject our kerbals to. The two communities may have more in common than I first thought.

At least most of the criticism is structured well. Thanks OP <3

Happy christmas! :) :)

- from the MP.net KSP expat community.

At least we don't have an 'original buthhurt thread' yet. Those forums are scary...

As another member of Bay12, I should probably reassure you that it is usually just the most gruesome things which are posted. The kind things (of which I do, BTW) don't get as much attention as the horrible things. What do you think the average person would be more interested in seeing, a discussion of raising children alongside their parents, or where children are raised in a tiny room and constantly attacked by dogs?

...ahem...

I remember reading from someone on the Reddit that there is a lot of overlap between this and the DF communities, possibly because of the high bar of entry both games have.

I might just be a "recent" member to join the community here (and only started playing this game at the beginning of the year), but this is one of the better communities. I've lurked for about 6-8 months. KSP has the most time on my Steam account, which I've had for quite some time.

EDIT: You misspelled ‼SCIENCE‼
