I have this idea for a planet pack that adds asteroids, as in ones you don't have to track, they'd be physical planets. I probably won't make it, but here's what the planets would be.

1: Potatus: It, well, looks like a potato. Vesta analogue.

2: Demios: Potentially hazardous object, like Phobos(The next one). NEA analogue

3: Phobos. Potentially hazardous object. NEA analogue

4: Pandora: It's an asteroid that released evil into the Kerbol system! (Actually, it's based on the real life asteroid Pandora.)

5: Kodsfinger: A slim, long asteroid that looks like a finger, hence the name, Kodsfinger. Analogue for this asteroid which I forget the name of.

And there's 9 Jool Trojans named after the 9 Muses.

If anyone thinks this idea's cool, let me know. I'm not guaranteeing I'll make it, though.

Hey _Augustus_, I have a question I've been desperately needing an answer to. How do I create normal maps that Kopernicus understands? I've found that the normal maps exported directly from Space Engine don't work, as well as custom normal maps using the normalmap plugin for Gimp.

Here's the map texture for a new moon I've been working on:

And here's the normal map, which does not work:

I've noticed the normal maps in your Stella Expansion are quite different, such as being more pink-colored and more profound in color contrast. How'd you make this?

EDIT: Oh, and if it is of any help, here is what that moon using the textures given above currently looks like in-game.

I use an online normal map generator. It works for me.... I have no idea why you have so many issues.

I'v been playing around some with trying to create interesting terrain. Having some issues with really jagged terrain close up, but I have a shot from a distant that looks pretty damn cool.

and here is an issue I'm having that I'm trying to solve.

I think the issue is too small of a radius planet. I had it at 5k. If I bump up the deformity on the heightmap to 15-20k it comes out pretty smooth but it also makes the overall size of the planet increase. Was trying to go for a real small asteroid with deep craters.

Has anyone had any luck exporting the scaledmesh from kittopiatech? Normal maps work fine for the base height map but once you start adding in PQS noise mods and the terrain starts changing the normal map isn't going to match up anymore.

You could try adding the normal map to the RSS config instead.

Scaled space exporting for KittopiaTech is not working yet, as far as I know. Maybe try adding a new PQS modifier (there should be one that has something to do with smoothing terrain.)

How do I add custom science reports to the bodies I created ?

Also, my new pack will use Flightglobalindexes 1700-1800.

(And I do use this generator too now)

Write in a text editor the science reports and save as a .cfg

@EXPERIMENT_DEFINITION[*]:HAS[#id[surfaceSample]]
{
%RESULTS
{
CloySrfLanded = "Science report"
}
}

Change the id to the respective science name.

EDIT: You need to have ModuleManager installed to work

Thanks you.

Also, I am no longer updating the planet pack I previously did, because the textures are bad and the planets are rushed. Instead, I am doing a planet pack with custom biomes, sciences reports, and good textures.

_Augustus_, can you add "No longer updated" next to my planet pack on the list, and can you add "Kaijo Planet Pack (WIP)" to the list ? I will post the link when the thread is done so you can link it.

I have no idea. I like your asteroid and I think the weird terrain makes it more unique.

Make it a moon of Eeloo!

Thank you.

I'm only giving you 1600-1699, but I just did.

Here's a thought, has anyone attempted to add the RSS planets to the stock system? So we have both the stock bodies and the real planets? I'v been playing around with it some but not having much luck.

I've made a config for RSS that replaces Dres and Minmus with Jool clones (And uses them as moons of the gas giants) as well as adding Neptune, but I've only been able to add 1 new moon that has new terrain to Saturn.
