Commander Jebidiah
The universe moves around you, the ship stays near to the origin, implemented to avoid floating point rounding errors if my memory serves me so just remember as your rocketing through space, your rocket is moving the universe This was said over a year ago but does this not mean that all ships in KSP have warp drive considering that the theory of warp drive is that it moves space and you remain stationary. vexx32
It's the theory of some warp drives, most notably the Alcubierre drive. However, it's not the same thing as what happens in KSP. In KSP, the game engine moves the universe around your own stationary bubble of space. An Alcubierre drive (in theory) does the exact opposite; it moves the bubble of space surrounding the ship through the rest of the universe. Alizerin
To be fair, according to special relativity, it could be argued that our motion in the universe behaves exactly like KSP handles moving ships around. We stand still and the universe moves around us.Its a little spooky to think that somewhere out there a team of Kerbals has coded up the Human Space Program. We have relativity 1.0, as we get both individual reference frames, and each of us get one. In KSP only 1 at a time can have a reference frame and they all have to stand in a queue to get the next go.
Vanamonde
This thread seems to be wandering aimlessly, and I still don't know what it's supposed to be about. OP, if you have a point or a question, please re-state it clearly in a new thread.
