hey Bob i need help. Why when i put -popupwindow on to the end of my opengl command does the ram usage go back up? Yet if i don't, i save RAM but it looks terrible and i can't access the settings menu? I am using an Nvidia card.

Not an AMA, but not part of any other series, so I'll put it here.

I might turn the result of this into an AMA, or maybe a tutorial. I'm going to try out streaming this weekend:

This time I tackle adding static base models to your world view using Kerbal Konstructs.

I have not done one of these for a while. I don't have any awesome ideas for something I can show in 5 minutes or less, but that is still really helpful to enough people to make it worth spending the time to make the video.

People tell me to stream KSP more often. I never know what I want to stream, though. I can't do Project Alexandria because it would be too boring. Making cinematics for Project Areas would be almost as boring.

But today I had a thought!

I am a "teacher" at heart. What if my streams were player-driven? What if I did one of these ideas:

(1) someone sends me a craft file that they are having trouble with, and I load it in the VAB and show them what is wrong and how to improve it

(2) someone in the stream asks me to show something specific, and so I then give an impromptu tutorial on the subject

(3) other ideas like these

(4) all of the above

It's so weird... I've had three posts now about people saying "great idea! I have this plane I would love you to examine!"

Do these people even watch my shows? :)

I just know almost nothing about making KSP planes. Can't do a show on planes.

But, this coming Monday I have no solid plan for a video yet and the weekend is already here. Anyone want something specific? Something I can do in two days?

How about building a space station and use the new "see IVA from outside" function to show off how cool it looks? (if you are allowed to record 1.1 that is...)

Any 1.1 video would probably need to be finished and then sent for approval before I could release it. I was thinking along the lines of my other Turbo Times, meaning that it should be something I do/show in 3-5 minutes.

Hmm... how about interplanetary travel? I have some friends who still have problems with getting from one planet to another one, and i don't have a good way to answer that question...

I need help! I use a Mac computer and the custom tank texture process seems to be different. I can't find any programs to open the files! Any recommendations? I need free programs that can open .cfg and .dds files.

I don't know Macs, but a CFG is a text file and you must have a text editor on a Mac. For DDS on a Mac you're on your own. Sorry.
