Upgrading parts via tech-tree

It would be interesting to see how the community would react if there were 909-MKII and 909-MKIII as well.

Pilots making machines work better was (rightfully!) rejected, so how about tech nodes unlocking better versions of engines and stuff?

It makes sense, having research going into technology that allows engines to produce some more power and/or more efficient.

Yes, as most everything in the tech tree should appear around the same time anyway as the only difference is size, not capability.

the thing i really want tho is another system to go to.

imagine building a ship to go to ANOTHER SYSTEM WITH MOAR PLANETS AND ANOTHER SUN. i mean you would have to plan for everything! ssto's light landers, heavy landers. probes to check for atmospheres.
