Prefetching is not allowed due to the various privacy issues that arise (issue with site)

I wouldn't bother with prefetch personally, you're increasing your bandwidth usage quite a bit, for the sake of making pages appear to load slightly faster.

I'm somewhat confused as to what the issue here is. I'm using Google Chrome, with prefetching enabled, and I have no issues with navigating the site. Do you have cookies disabled, or something?

Fair enough, I can see the desire to avoid a flame-war.

On the other hand, it seems just as irrational to me to avoid suggesting trying an alternative when your preferred method is not achieving the desired result.

Every browser has its strengths. There is no 'one true way'. At the end of the day, this thread is about solving the OP's issue, not tip-toeing around the feelings of people that are looking for reasons to be offended on the internet. (IMHO of course.) In that sense, suggesting the OP try a different browser seems reasonable enough.
