Dawn Launch preference ?

Dawn, sometimes dusk... but yeah, especially with EVE and PlanetShine, it's more cinematic.

Oh, and it's the first thing that comes after night, so if I rollout a rocket in KCT during the middle of the night, I just wait until sunrise to launch. My Kerbals need some sleep, right?

I prefer not dealing with night launches. I can see when something's wrong easier when I can see my rocket or plane, thereby granting me extra time to hit the eject sequence and save the crew.

I also hate landing at night.

I go with night/dawn/dusk launches nearly always, because that's how they do it most of the time IRL.

I prefer to launch in the morning, but not at dawn. I like to see my rocket as it goes up for stress analysis (I want to know on the FIRST launch that a design is too wobbly, not after I've sent three of 'em up at night), but I'm not exactly a morning person, so the sun being low on the eastern horizon is heresy. Do not want!

Why not just time warp the < 3 hours until sunrise?

Launch as soon as the vehicle is ready, irrespective what time of day it is. Fast forwarding to daylight just increases mission time on existing flights, bringing crew changes a lot closer unnecessarily.

For orbital deliveries via spaceplane: dawn or just after is preferred, so as to have good light for both takeoff and landing - landing in the dark is... hard

For new rockets anytime there's light is a bonus, so I can see what's going on, but for tried and trusted designs I really don't care.

If I'm testing a new rocket, I prefer a dawn/daylight launch ... easier to see if I've messed up the staging etc. Otherwise, a proven vehicle, I'll launch whenever or what best suits the game plan for my destination.

My computer's crap, so a lot of the atmospheric effects are lost in my game. I prefer daytime launches because it makes it easier to see when something's going wrong and what's causing it.

I launch at dawn so that I can actually SEE what's on the map view for the most time.

I've never gotten why the so called "map view" only gives you roughly half of the map view at any given time.

If I'm launching to rendezvous with something then launch time is dictated by the target's orbit. If I'm just sending something simple to orbit then I'll launch whenever. But If I'm making a vid or launching something new or significant then I prefer a dawn or late morning launch. Vid making is the main reason I'd choose a dawn launch.

I prefer to not lawn dart. It's terribly embarrassing and a faux-pas at launching parties.

I usually do my launches between dawn and noon, so that the rocket and pad are well lit, and I'm also circularizing on the sunny side of the planet.

Depends on what I'm launching, if it's something staying in Kerbins' SOI, anytime works. If I'm leaving KSOI I launch whenever is best for the launch window, a little before dawn for Eve/Moho and dusk for outer planets.

Why is there no sunset option? If you're launching to rendezvous, launching a little before sunset will tend to have you meeting up with the target around dawn (assuming you fly an optimal ascent). Docking sure is easier in sunlight.

I honestly don't care when I launch. To me it feels unnecessary to waste IG time doing absolutely nothing when I could be exploring the stars, or at least getting a probe on a path to Laythe or something.

Now, if I was launching an unmanned probe that relied on solar power to keep working, I may specifically launch at dawn just so I can have the electrical power to get into a stable orbit before it drops back down to the surface.
