How have you abused the KSP aero model?

Apparently base modules are a pain to connect on the surface.

and YES, it got into orbit safely.

Frankly, atmosphere is a big part of launch vehicle engineering, and it's nice to see it getting looked at. Half the challenge of getting something to the Moon is getting it into orbit in the first place, after all.

That's nothing. I took this (well, the stuff I didn't drop on ascent) to Jool.

It was for my own personal Jool-5 mission where I had to return something from every situation (So I'd get credit for returning a ship "landed on Tylo" and "Tylo Orbit" etc for all 5 moons and Jool itself.

Placing flaps perpendicular to the direction of travel to drag the COL back.

Doing the same to eliminate the COL on rockets(does not work with the new wings)

I do this very often when building heavy spaceplanes. It certainly saved me lots of wing position shifting, although I feel kinda guilty for exploiting this.
