  1. Yeah, it would have to be game-time. Real-time wouldn't be fair.
  2. Oh, you want to go all metal??? Fine.. one more... hehehe... then back to work... lmao....
  3. OK... I'm going off on a tangent again... All weekend I've been playing with version 1.3, and I have nothing but really good things to say about it! It's smoother, the graphics are nicer, and it looks like the issue I had with Emiko asteroid has apparently been fixed! And I really like the adjustable ambient lighting. Yeah, I know I was going to finish the backstory... but I've been playing mostly the Sims for a couple months now, and I seriously need some Kerbal time! And I built... something really cool... that I want to put to use. So I'm going to go back to the present and KSP for a chapter or two, to break things up, and keep me from burning out on the Sims much further... and I'm adding a twist to make things interesting. A couple months ago @Badie posted the "Place the ground-stations" weekly challenge, which I didn't do at the time... but I saved the game-file for future use. This game-file was made by @Azimech, and has some amazing "props" included in it, which is why I saved it. Now the challenge itself is long past, and I'm not worried about earning a badge. In fact, I'm not really going do it according to the rules anyway. Instead, without giving too much away, I'm going to put my own unique spin on it, and do something a little different, that will fit into the plot-line nicely. I did some seriously hardcore persistomancy and persisto-sorcery on a back-up Emiko game-file last night.. and managed to steal, borrow, import most of the... lets say key elements... of the ground-station challenge game into my Emiko game without it crashing! I'm amazed I got it right on the first try, but I've tested it out all morning, and everything seems to be there... hehehe. So... while I'm not actually doing the challenge, I need to send a super huge thanks and shout-outs to @Azimech for creating the original challenge, and letting me use a lot of it in the Saga.
  4. I don't have a screenshot, but the gold magic boulder in this video is a 2-ton class-A, and the smallest I've ever found. And just as @bewing said, it's about the diameter as one of the fully extended gigantors.
  5. They're really rare, but I saw one on a lonely hill in upstate NY about 25 or so years ago... really bad snowstorm, and all of a sudden... BOOM!!! Thunder and lightning... in the middle of winter! Just about scared the kraken krap out of me!
  6. No, I actually have what I think is a fairly plausible explanation for the whole thing. I hope
  7. Yup... First, welcome to my universe! The vast majority of the Saga takes place in the Kerbol solar system, but yes, the backstory chapters are about my main character, Emiko Kerman, who has been abducted and taken to a very, very weird planet called Earth.... which in my universe, comes with a full range of Earth sci-fi & fantasy characters, including witches. And in the next chapter, I will be finally explaining the Earth connection, and why it's so important to the story... including all the weird stuff Emiko keeps encountering.
  8. Yeah, I was just kidding around... but you might want to make a note in the OP: "No balloons or blimps allowed"
  9. I'm going to assume this wouldn't be allowed...
  10. I just (finally) upgraded to 1.3 yesterday... no hurry to attempt 1.3.1... Just wanted to say how very, very grateful I am to @Thomas P. (and anyone else involved) for keeping this going.... and please, take your time with 1.3.1... I'm not a mod-maker, but from a writers POV, I totally understand the need for patience! Thank you!
  11. I'm not sure either, but if I was to venture a guess, i'd say he doesn't know how to move the camera head around to get a good sample. Now, I've just encountered a weird variation on the celestial body list bug. Nothing game breaking, but I thought I'd better let you know. I just upgraded to 1.3 yesterday, and so far everything seems to be working... and in a sandbox game my telescopes work fine. However, in my Emiko career game, the telescopes still only see planets, no moons or galaxies. It's not really a huge deal, I can still use it for what I need (like looking at Emiko Asteroid up close from a ship that's over 2km away... ) and I don't need the science points in that particular career game. But still I thought you'd want to know. If you need my logs or the game file or whatever, let me know.
  12. Yup... this is the really big reason I decided yesterday I better get off my butt and upgrade, before it gets too far ahead of me. Plus I'm super excited about the DLC, and want to be ready for it when it's done. I can't wait to get my klaws on that mission builder... bwaahahaha
  13. If I'm looking at this correctly, I believe he mounted his chem-cam sideways... so when it opens it's pointing down at at the ground. It's on the right hand side of the ship, near the top. @Gyger, is that the problem, the chem-cam?
  14. OK, I'll keep these in mind... thanks! Might be fun to go somewhere like my polar base, which has been empty for quite some time, and find stuff all busted up... make the engineers earn their credits... lol...
  15. Hmmm... so krap can break... I like it... lol. I just updated to 1.3, and found this in the latest MOLE update... and I may enable and use it in Emiko. I have to read over the WIKI stuff more closely tomorrow, but I like the idea of having parts wear down, etc... Question, as far as lifespans: Emiko is a very old career game, and several of my bases and ships are already several years old. If I enable Baris, will parts start breaking from age right off on an older ship, or will it start counting days from when I enable it?
  16. I just finished watching the classic 1966 movie Fantastic Voyage. Why mention a movie on the thread? Because the original book, by Isaac Asimov, is even better!
  17. Actually, there's a second system forming right over our heads as we speak... but from what I just read it's going to drift off into the Atlantic before it gets too big.
  18. Loving the slightly reddish-orange ambient light tint... that's supposed to be like that I hope?
  19. Yeah... love it! I'm not gonna lie... considering one update made my Emiko Asteroid disappear, and another one made my space stations start blowing up randomly, I've been fairly nervous about this one... but it looks like I'm OK this time.
  20. OK... looks like my Emiko Station career game survived the upgrade to 1.3!!! WOOHOO!!!! I've still got to test some of the ships, but so far it looks like the only problem is a couple action keys aren't working... which happened before when I upgraded, and isn't a really big deal, I can swap those ships out if need be. But I've already checked and Emiko station itself is OK, the Pandora is OK, and the bases on Minmus and Ike are OK.... so hopefully everything else survived as well. Wow... the Emiko career game has now survived upgrades from version 0.94 to 1.3... cool.
